Perseid meteor shower peaks

Thursday, Aug. 13, 2 a.m.

The Perseid meteor shower is always the most reliable in the year, and this year benefits from having the moon out of the sky for most of the night. Although Perseid meteors can be seen at any time of night, there are always more meteors after midnight because then the Earth is heading directly into the shower. Although they appear to radiate from a point in the constellation Perseus in the northeastern sky, they can be seen anywhere in the sky.

I just came in for a minute and back out I go.........some nice ones so far.

Now there's a thunderstorm brewing over the ocean so I get a hell of a lightening show.

We had that during the day yesterday and then it was cleared up last night.

LOUD thunder and lightning so close that I saw the flash reflect off the hardwood floor .......and the wife actin' like a chicken as usual

Been years since a nice night time lightning storm here but I took video of that on my old 8mm camera back in the 90's
