Leonod(sp) meteor shower?
I think I'll watch it this time around... never really saw it before.
Hey Magic, will NASA have anything on the web for it?

Re: Leonod(sp) meteor shower?
Hmmmmm......is this shower going to be caused when we're passing through the debris trail of one of the comets? Some of those shows are amazing.
Re: Leonod(sp) meteor shower?
Yes it is time for the Leonid meteor shower again!
The comet known as comet 55P/Tempel-Tuttle is in the area of the constellation Leo and the next few nights are the best time to see them as long as you don't live surrounded by city lights and the night sky is clear.
Nasa usually has pics later but you can't watch while they happen any better than going outside the next couple nights.
Here is some info http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2006/14nov_leonids.htm
I have been looking at them on every clear night for over 40 years now!
Have fun and I hope you see lots of them.

Re: Leonod(sp) meteor shower?
I wish it would have started last night because it was warm with no wind and clear sky last night and tonight looks like some clouds might be in the way and for sure saturday and sunday will be rain
No cold showers for me =SA= .........I hate cold weather and cold showers!
I was just sitting downstairs thinking about how I could change part of the roof into glass so I can look up at the stars without freezing to death!
It would be nice down in Yuma where my Dad lives every winter!

Skylights!!!!
I was thinking that myself. Our Garage was origionally was supposed to contain an in-law apartment, 24x24 we opted out of the in-law part, but it would be nice to goahead and do it now, take off the plywood and make the entire roof pitch out of glass panes.

Yeah I wish I would have done it when I built this house almost 4yrs ago!!
Would have been easier then but of course the builders and material ate too much money that year
My neighbor did his way back in 1976 with large glass panals but he did the tinted glass so that wouldn't work to look at stars, comets, meteor showers and the rest.
Hell even snow would look cool and you could spray the glass with that stuff that would make it slide off if it was steep enough angle.
I can't stand sitting out in the cold anymore so I wish I could sit inside and look up through the glass

You know how that insurance racket goes Cravn, you pay and pay and pay and they don't want to pay you out when something happens... LOL
Like if you wreck your brand new car, then they want to use crash parts or off-market parts to fix it LOL..

Re: Leonod(sp) meteor shower?
This morning around 3 am, I saw a HUGE fireball come out of the sky....about the size of a nickel. It was a blinding white light that became bigger then it zoomed across the sky, leaving a glowing red trail behind it.
It took over a minute for that red glowing trail to fade, and after it did, it left a trail of white smoke!!
That was a BIG rock. I wonder where it landed.....maybe the Pacific.

COOL!
I wish I would have seen that one !!
It most likely didn't make it to earth though.
These Leonids can burn like that with a pebble the size of a tiny pea.......and even a bit of dust will burn bright but the one you saw is the best type to see for sure!!
It sounds like it looked like that one in the picture I put on an earlier post
Here is another site with lots of info.

Yeah, don't want to pay nothing... 04/14/2006... just 1 of my companies has paid out $990,000... so far... just for this poor handicapper's customers alone. The hail storm that day cost the industry something like $660,000,000... so far... just for Central Indiana. No Christmas bonus for ColtsKurt this year. Fucking hail.

LOl c'mon Kurt, I was just busting your balls a little bit. Strange thing though, my best friend's house got hit pretty hard by hail and they filed the claim for the new roof.. Not even a very big roof, MAYBE a 4000-5000 dollar tear-off and install... They canceled them after the roof was done, and they went 12 years without1 single claim on their insurance... It's the ones like that I have a problem with. My insuracne has been very good to me over the years... When I had my car accident that almost killed me way back when they were more than accomodating.. My agent even took the time to come and visit me in the hospitol and just bring me a candy bar or whatever... They paid for about 90% of my VERY expensive truama center bill... I would have lost everything if it wasn't for them. And i still have the same agent with the same great coverage.
There can we be buds again ROFLMAO!!!

Just raise rates on your clients, like insurance companies always do..You'll get your bonus just not in December..
