I better not let the wife see these pics..........She wants to upgrade, but I`m kinda stubborn about it.
A husband and wife that live to the left of me live like hillbillies.he`s like 6ft 6 and weighs 280-290 lbs,his wife is 5ft tall and about as round. She works,he doesn`t.They actually do live in doghouse it seems like.Small with two big ogs living with them.
And it really burns my ass up,the dogs shit in my yard every now and then..........
The people to the right, are great people, their daughter and my daughter(step, but may as well be mine) are like best of buds and go to the same college.
But we use the same driveway...........We have 4 vehicles and they have 3.
Makes it interesting sometimes.
But the reason I have a hard time moving is tax reasons.
I don`t know what you pay in taxes, but mine is 2100$..........to live in house like yours,(a buddy of mine lives in a house like yours and pays 4800),I would refuse to pay the Gov that type of money to live.
I got 7 to go to retire with 2 pensions, one from the Union and the othwer from the International..........I don`t wanna be stuck.
and actually thought about getting a get-away,possibly a permanent place in Arizona.
We`ll see..................................
Hey, we all have situations and different values. We're all doing great, because we're all able to get on here and BS about shit. And tell each other to

Thats why I said *sort of*
You both have a concrete drive going out to the mail box on a street and a front lawn and neighbors on both sides of you.
I don't have any of that here.........do wish my driveway was concrete though

Magic, you make that trek this season to jacksonville, the warmth and humidity do somethinb to our old bones, my back doesn't ache like it did up north, and I'd rather sweat then be bone chilled any day of the week.
I don't know when I'm fully retiring, might go til I'm 62, then hit some places out west, but until that time comes I'm having fun.
Hey could you move Florida a little closer so I can drive there in a couple hours?

If I was still in my 30's I probably would
But my driveway is 300ft long X 10ft and without doing the math that is a bit more than the King of Concrete can do........and my Power Wagon would say the same thing (and the cost of the gasoline she would drink)
I am tempted to do some concrete repairs to the bad spots and make it black so it sort of looks like the asphalt
Or just get some rebar and make some forms and have a concrete truck stop by and see if I can still spred it around before it is cured
The crooks that did the asphalt did some good and some so thin a weed can poke up through it bastards
But you can bet that I will be mixing concrete here in the near future
HEY BTW aren't YOU the one that named me the "King of Concrete" several years ago Kurt????

1 80 Lb bag of redimix will do a area 3x3 ft 2 inches thick. A safe bet for a drive way is at least 4" thick. Our driveway in delta pa was 285 ft long, they wanted 27,000 to black top it...
You can do what I did, I bought 3 triaxles full of millings (crushed blacktop) and had them spread it, now on a hot day you can spray diesel fuel on the millings and the sun and warmth will cause it to melt. Legal no, cheaper then paying 27,000, hell yes..

I did get away with skipping the tax part so mine was $9000 and is about the same as your Penn State driveway.
And yeah it has to be at least 4in thick.
This is the Olympic Peninsula so we have all kinds of rules......which is why you do lots of finish work AFTER the last county inspection and mine was in 2003
The part behind the house with the circle came out pretty good (I guess since I watched them closer there) but some is too thin on the edges so even grass tries to grow through
I do use those 80lb bags of extra strength from Home Depot (haul 7 bags at a time in the trunk of my car on shopping trips)
I think I will add the asphalt I dig up to the concrete and also use that black powder dye you can get to make it dark and match the rest.
I would like to know how much it would cost me to have concrete delivered for maybe 150ft of it and make it a GOOD 10ft wide for the UPS trucks

Oh yeah, I know about living on the waterways and the county rules, we were inspected and spot inspected when we built that home , I was only 36 ft off that creek known as Michaels Run, which dumped into the Susquehanna river which dumped into the Chesapeake bay. There is a 4 state fight still to this day going on as to who is responsibble for killing the sea grasses in the Chessie.
Even when I sold that home I went through some tough inspections, we had upgrade the septic system which was only 11 years old at the time, I had to put out 1200 bucks to bring it to code.

Crav… I don't care where you live, its NEVER ok to pee or poop off the balcony or toss your trash into the "crick" as we hoosiers call it…

Re: B.C Investing ( SILVER and Gold Pt 2)
Yeah we seem to call em "cricks" and "creeks" here
The law here says we have to be 100 feet from the creek but my place had a old foundation from before that law so I got to build on that foundation (after I added tons of concrete and rebar)
With all that water Cravn has around him now I sure hope they have a city water and sewer and not septic tanks and wells
HEY CERN made me King for a Day again (16th time) http://atlasathome.cern.ch/index.php

Re: B.C Investing ( SILVER and Gold Pt 2)
Where I live was designed to be the "country" of orlando, so yes we are on septic, but we do have city water.
I drive a country road for 19 miles into Daytona everyday, I've seen more of a variety of wildlife here then I ever seen in PA or MD. Seeing wild hogs dart across the roadway is something I'll never get used to seeing, the deer down here are small, I don't get that one since the farms always have something growing, there is no dead seasonhere like up north.
Kurt, nothing wrong with taking a leak off the deck..

Re: B.C Investing ( SILVER and Gold Pt 2)
question... spot is what percentage over the "listed" going price for silver? Appears to be 10%+ a smidge.
(Looking at JMBullion's "special" today. 1oz silver bars at $.99 over spot.... trying to figure this out... deal or no deal?

*Spot* is the price THEY have to pay when they get this silver and gold.
So the *Over* is the profit they get.......and since it is a business they of course have to sell it for more than they pay to get the large amounts that they buy for us to buy from them.
WE can not buy at *Spot* unless we spend hundreds of thousands.
Btw the price right now is about as good as it gets.........I already have 200oz's so it would have to drop more but then when you invest you want that price to go UP in the sort of near future

Is the spot price listed anywhere? I've noted that the proce paid is generally 10-11% above the Monex price...

Silver price looks real nice right now $350.06 for 20oz's ....I was just comparing it to a roll of 20 coins at $391.66
What you see under all of my posts is basically the current *spot price
And at the top of the page at JM is the Live Spot Prices:
