MEMORIAL DAY

Cant believe their are so many un-american people on my street, My neighbor from SC and I were the only ones to fly the flag this weekend.

We did our honor, then we had a small gathering, played the bean bag toss with my colts bretheren..It was great, because yesterday the wife and i were over their home and their kids, facetimed them live from the Indy Speedway..

You didn't visit IMS when here, did you John?  Magic, the sorceress, and I did.

We did carb day (Friday) with son and eldest grandson and it was outstanding.  In at 10:30, back in car headed out by 2.

Pretty cool.  saw the Indy cars out in force, most of the Corvette, IRL, and associated set-ups behind the Pagoda, and watched the Lights race.

Which brings up something real cool… we sat in the pits area for the lights race.  Pick a spot, slide over, and its Forrest Lucas sitting alongside.  He actually moved down a row so we could fit.  Sat and chatted thru the race.  Just a good ol' boy watching a car he sponsors race on the track.  Nice guy.  You'd never know he was worth half a billion or so...

Well I guess there are a few Americans left in the country   

Yeah Kurt you gave us a nice tour of the Speedway and museum and you took all those pics for me and of course I saved all of them   

(I even took a few of you while we were there)

Wait a minute… Magic, you telling me those two pics are of the same guy? One in the cemetery and the other at IMS? Hate to say it, but dude… you've packed a few layers of winter wool on there… lol

Well you know pictures can be deceiving!!

Now I probably haven't cut my hair or my beard since we last saw each other (because I can) but the reason I look bigger in that pic is because I tend to wear those Nike pants......or whatever you call them and that was my extra large loose ones that I tend to slip on when we are just going for a drive   

Not that I am skinny but in the summer I spend most of my time working on the Kingdom and skip the eating part.

Last winter I did get up to 269 and when I saw that number on the scale I quickly dropped down to 242

I tell the wife I use the diet book I wrote years ago......100 blank pages.......meaning you don't gain weight if you are too busy to stop and eat and of course I rarely drink a beer.

BUT sunday will be the start of the 19th consecutive year of the Pictchin' Wedge and BBQ contest for the money with all my old timer friends who I never see since we all live 50 miles from each other so I need you all to wish me good luck so I can win the cash and use that to buy the damn gas to mow my lawn all Summer and Fall   

Now if that does happen I will have a beer!

BTW how do you keep up with the grandkids?

We have one girl who is about to turn 11 and expects Joyce and I to run around and play when she comes here (along with the fact she thinks money grows on trees and that I have all those trees    )

No Kurt didnt get a chance to see Indy Speedway, i flew in that Saturday..

All I know is I dont have to see a burger, chicken or hot dog this week, it would be fine by me..

Now just think, July 4 is on a friday, so another 3 day weekend, and July 5 will be the summer race at Daytona..Hopefully Ill recoop from Drews 10 days down here..Im having a busy ass summer..
