The square of 3 is 9.
The square of 4 is 16.  
The sum of 9 and 16 is 25.  (25 represents the hypotenuse).
The square root of 25 is 5.
Therefore, the ratio is written:  3:4:5:

The Pythagoras theorem equation is expressed as, c² = a² + b², where 'c' = hypotenuse of the right triangle and 'a' and 'b' are the other two legs.
So any triangle with one angle equal to 90 degrees produces a Pythagoras triangle and the Pythagoras equation can be applied in the triangle.
