No silver for a while... just pulled the trigger on a cruise for the lovely bride and I. 12/30 we depart for the eastern Caribbean. 10 days of sun, fun, food, and drink. A 60th B-day present for me and 1 yr less present for the lady... And Christmas presents for both. Kind of a "going away" present of sorts as well, I suppose.

Fuck it... can't take it with me.

Cravn found this first and it looks like it happened on December 9th 2016 where Penn Metals went out of business and this guy talks about it.

I think they invested too much on a higher price and sold it too low and when it came to them having money to get more gold or silver they didn't have the cash........the owners probably just made up excuses and quit while they were......well ahead with investors cash.

So glad I never bought any from them or invested and didn't get the silver.Glad we were JMBullion and Silvertowne buyers

Silver Ask 18.04 UP 0.25 ......keep on climbing........probably will just drop back down but it is fun to see how much profit you could claim if you could actually sell at the asking price (mine is up to almost $900 profit now)

I don't know what my price to sell is... do you have a number in mind?

Not that what I have is enough to change anything by selling. I'd need far more poundage in hand for it to really matter.

It is still at $18.43 today........no idea what my selling price would have to be with that 100oz bar

The higher the better of course,but then that is part of the *investing* game

I guess double the price I paid would be tempting and it still looks like it is fresh from the Sunshine Silver Mine since it has never been touched by humans and is nice looking.

The coins are another story........just keeping those for years makes them worth + the asking price and the couple rolls with the Queen on them will be worth even more since she can't live forever (I don't think)

The asking right now for those Canada silver coins is $555.21 and I paid $450
The roll of British coins is at $563.02 and I paid $411

The US Silver Eagles were $390 when I got several of rolls of those and right now the asking is $458.75

So if it was a high profit I would sell the bar but I may just keep the coins and see if I can live longer than the Queen (I doubt it)

Not sure I'd be putting a lot of my money into gold and silver based on the last 5 years.  You can play the short-term gain game but you gotta get out at the mini-highs and get back in at the mini-lows.    You "investors" (speculators, really)...other than paper profits, are you making real money on this shit?

I'm gonna stick with a steady 3-4% gain on a balanced portfolio because I'm OLD and don't have time to recover from big losses.

I never buy Gold and I don't think anyone else here did.

And we are BUYING the Silver at this low price not that high price.

See on your graph where the price dropped in the end of 2014.....that is when I started buying and we started this thread old timer.

BUT I am just watching now and haven't bout any since the end of 2015 (note the price then started rising again)

Still my favorite thing to collect and always will be is Ben Franklins.......yep just pieces of fancy paper and linen and cotton

And I like checking the asking price of Silver every day just for the hell of it.
