Know what? That's fine with me. I've got nothing to fear. Small price to pay for security (or in the name of...) these days.

Hey Kurt, Im looking at the Hotels on Expedia and they are listing it as "walking distance" to RCA, is that still walking distance to the new Stadium?

Cravn,
The Luke is right across the street from the RCA Dome. So, it's definitely within walking distance. I've checked on Expedia and Orbitz for flight/hotel packages. Looks like, if flying, it's out of Philly since BWI doesn't seem to offer a non-stop flight and the trip would involve (most flights anyway) changing in Philly (BWI to Philly...now there's a long flight). I was considering the Canterbury hotel or the Marriot/Capital. Both would run a little over $400 for the two nights. What're you thinking?

Cravn.... I thought you were going to use my 2 extra tickets. If not that's ok. I'll find some Colts fans that will want them.
Cranv's right...... we need to get the ball rolling!! What's for dinner??

The Embassy is about 2 blocks north of the RCA as well. I stay there when we spend weekends down there.

Re: Mr Kurt
I certainly have people to use my tix... if 99's are available... go for it!
No bruised feelings here...
Although I was looking forward to having Crav buy the beer all game long...
Just making sure we have the seats available.

Re: Mr Kurt
Is this the type of seafood you are looking for Cravn?????
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columbia/story/2008/06/18/bc-sixth-foot-found.html
That is a stones throw north of me in the San Juan Island area near Canada
HEY KURT!!
You are supposed to have the 2 tix for me if I can actually make the trip......believe me I would love to make the trip again and actually see all of you old timers
BTW.......in the middle of the night last night I got in this goofy mood and took the scissors to my hair and chopped off 6 inches so my hair is shorter than it has been since I was about 13 years old.......so I look like you guys.....well almost.......I didn't shave it off so I look like I am wearing a silver-gray hat
But I still have the beard........which is now 6 inches long.
I started growing that for good luck for the Lakers and planned on shaving it off after that crappy game 6......but I kind of like the way it scares the shit out of punks since a 6ft 4" 225lb guy with a big beard with his sunglasses on makes people think twice before they get near me
But then since Al Gore made the weather here cold and wet I never seem to feel good at all this year and my wife would have to wheel me around the airport again (like last time)
Must admit the Chicago airport was so big you could live there and nobody would realize it
Baseball is boring me so much that I am taking the entire summer off to try and play golf (and win the $1700 on sunday at the pitching wedge contest up in Sequim)
Colts preseason is the only thing I will be waiting for.

Just get the clippers and put the #2 guide in..You know you want to
Hey Blue, We took that BWI-Philly flight when the Mrs and I went to St Thomas in May, now that was a small plane..We took off, leveled out at 5000 feet, then started our approach to Philly..19 min flight..But is shaved 400 off the trip..I dont get it, but thats a benny living an hour inbetween both Airports.
As long as we have 4 tickets amungst us, I dont care..But I dont want Kurt to have to walk too far everytime Troy Smith picks apart that sorry Colts D for 6 points, to get me a beer.

Re: Mr Kurt
Random thoughts...
Sure glad the First Annual Midwest Regional Meeting of the BC is taking place in good 'ol Indy... I've got a whole closet full of PAIRS of shoes. What a waste of money to only need one...
Screw the #2 clippers... go for the clean shaven look. Tall white guys with bushy beards and chrome-domes in sunglasses NEVER attract attention from your friendly TSA/Homeland Security rent-a-cops...
Baseball is BORING you??? My gawd, man! The College World Series is coming to its crescendo! Fresno freaking State? Yougoddabekiddingme! That Georgia closer is a bitch, man! ESPN2 - non HD, though - WATCH IT!
You all are right... Oct. 12 will be here sooner than we think... better start thinking about this... not just talking.

I've never stayed there, but have alway heard that is was a very nice place.... Lots of celebs stay there when they are in town...
It was where Mike Tyson was staying when he got busted for rape as a matter of fact....
right on the circle too.... you guys would probably have fun there.
just a brisk walk to the slippery noodle from the circle...

Re: Mr Kurt
Sorry 2shock... the Canterbury is south of the circle... 2-3 blocks south, over on Illinois. Nearer the stadium and all the restaurants and bars. You must be thinking of the Columbia Club on the circle.
The Canterbury has a great little highbrow (at least that's what they'd like to think it to be) bar up front where I've had a great time on several occasions. We used to go in there after Indian games. We'd sit at the bar and have a great time with this hot bartender. She was about 10-15 years younger than us and we had a great time - she wasn't used to "regular guys" that knew how to act, but weren't overly impressed with ourselves. It's right there by St. Elmo's. That is an elegant hotel.

And here I was impressed that Blue and Cravn were going to roll with the high-rollers and you spoiled it for me..

Re: Mr Kurt
I dunno, man. The Canterbury is probably the nicest publicly known spot to stay in the downtown area...
There are some incredible places that don't advertise. Only known to thoise in the hospitality business. The Prince of Monaco stayed in a place downtown during the F-1 weekend that had tunnels to St. Elmo's and Ocean-Aire... sweet. Lord only knows the rack rate at a place like that!
We can put Cravn up at one of the places a Patel owns... (pay by the hour)

Re: Mr Kurt
Did a little research today on downtown hotels for my trip. The Canterbury really looks nice and plush. Two nights with parking, taxes and other fees will run $647! The Westin is about $100 cheaper...I'll probably book the Westin but not sure. Cravn will likely want to stay at a Motel 6 or something. The hotels are filling up fast. The Marriot is already booked full for that weekend. University Place looks very reasonable but that's outside of town and would require a shuttle to get into town and back. That's only a little over $300 for the two nights though.
Here's the Canterbury...
I'm still planning on driving out and back. 9 1/2 hours one way but then I'll have a car while there so I can get to the big bash wherever that might be.
86 more days!!

I don't think that university place is out of town blue... If I remember right that one is on the IUPUI campus... it's right downtown.... just not as close as the other hotels are...
What about The Conrad? it's downtown and a 5 star as well....
You could also check out the Hyatt Regency.......
AND there IS a Holiday Inn Express that sits right across the street from the stadium, and they are building another hotel right across the street as well that should be open in time for the game...

The Hyatt also has one of the city's most unique resteraunts too... it sits high atop the building and revolves.... I hear the food is pretty good, but I haven't been there in years though.
