Notice how feisty SA gets after I give him one of my fake cuss outs?

Well I hope I don't need that test SA......or they come up with a test where they don't try and "Tom Brady" me with a camera on a stick

But don't forget one thing, SA.....from the moment Callura and I started talking about creating this game, the FIRST thing I said to him was, "We should make the rules of this game patterned after the NFL".

I never stopped saying that. I constantly argued with that dude to do just that......pattern our game after the NFL. We did a good job with the regular season format, but totally screwed up the playoff structure. So when Callura melted down the final time and was given the boot, I finally fixed the playoff format to more closely mimic the pro game. This is why I decided to set it up like it is.

This would prevent us from minimizing the regular season and only rewarding the championship to the play off winner.
Isn't this what the NFL does? wink

Seems to me that 17 weeks of hard work should not be thrown away for 11 play off games in which one of the play off games (SB) carrier half the wieght or greater.
Isn't this the spirit of the NFL? When the playoffs start, everybody starts over with a 0-0-0 record wink

In the current formate we are basically just anointing the Super Bowl Champ.
Isn't this exactly what the NFL does?? wink

Now, having said that......perhaps we could throw the idea around of giving division winners one extra selection in each of the 3 playoff rounds. For example, each division winner would have a choice of 6 bonus selections to choose from. Each division winner would select ONE of those choices. If the player hits the selection, he gets a bonus point, or perhaps one-half point.

Don't think that wouldn't make a big difference by the time the SB is played. An extra couple of points can make ALL the difference considering the way the playoff points are allocated now.

Yeah, that's something to think about........

True, the NFL playoff teams start at 0-0-0, but the rest of the teams are sitting at home. Maybe we should have 2/3 of the BC players take a fishing trip instead of participating in the playoffs. That would be the most realistic. Maybe the playoffs can be an actual playoffs, where BC members match up 1 vs. 1 on who picks the best in the playoffs with home field advantage being 1/2 an extra point (in case of ties). I bet if everyone made the playoffs, we could set it up to where 4 players are left to bet on the Super Bowl. That would be the most realistic playoff format.

wow, head to head formats? Interesting point of view. It would end up like a bracket system. But all players would have to submit through private message so that home field advantage doesnt just copy picks and coast on through....

hmmm....
