While in the land of the rastaman... only saw/heard one true raggae band the whole time there... they were good, local, and authentic (appearing, at least) and I did catch a "whiff" that tended to lead me to believe they were authentic!

The band is called "Groundation" and they are from California and play around the world and are joined by many of the legend reggae stars while on tour.

BC member Noel lives in Portland and they stop by there often.

The old timer friend of mine who ran the Jamaican reggae tv show for decades (in NYC too) is Earl "The Rootsman" Chin.

I will post a Groundation video later today when I get some time........and help you with the emoticon deal too.......hey buy that place across the street from me and I can help you with your pc problems easier

Any ideas on how to convert a flash movie to a windows media file?

I've been trying to upload a youtube video to my Zune, but it won't let me do it because it's a flash movie and not a WMV or whatever windows uses....

You ought to check out some of the Slash has done on Youtube... Some awesome stuff of him there.

Well I guess I'm going to have to spend about 40chips to get the software to be able to convert flv files to wmv files...

Nothing in the freeware or shareware sites works that well.. either the video gets messed up or the audio does....


I did find some higher end stuff that looks like it will be what i need...

Good luck with that.....there are lots of youtube music videos that I would like to burn to disc just to watch on my bigscreen instead of just on the pc monitor (all my monitors are old school)

Well I found just the thing for you then Magic old buddy!

Moyea Software makes a flash to video converter that works SEAMLESSLY to do just that!!!

It will change the flash video to just about ANY video format.... WMV is probably best for us PC guys.... And then of course you just burn the video to DVD... They even have a free tial version so you can see how it works....

I've been capturing and converting Videos all morning.......Check out Robert Lockewood Jr..(one of Robert Johnson's cousins) doing his great uncles Sweet Home Chicago.... Awesome old school blues man.
