And now.......the wife is sitting here to make sure I can't turn the channel for any of this halftime crap and several others during the pregame

Bowing down to Prince again ......I'd rather see a snowball fight between the fans.

Not long ago music/singers would sing lyrics of songs they wrote........NOT dance around with 15 other clowns making sure all the dance steps match.

HOW the fuck do these dip shits make MILLIONS because they all dance together on a stage with lights and video running behind them.

The best I ever hear is "oh but they do this and that for others".........no shit.......that is just to make even more money and fame cover them like an avalanche.

I know several physicists that spen their entire life doing actual work that is actually worth anything and THEY do not get millions and do not drive a different Rolls Royce each day and live in a different castle every week.......they just never stop working and learning and stop the day they die and maybe get their names on a paper at some physics project or college.

I wondered why some I know moved to Switzerland (one from Pittsburgh) but even here in BFE I see more and more crap and they call themselves "artists" and "poets" and even here in BFE where there is just the post office and a 4-way stop light we now have a gas station and TWO weed stores.

I guess she can watch the halftime BS and I will go upstairs and check my computers to see if they are doing what I told them.........you know high-energy physics for the biggest, baddest particle accelerator in the history of humans..........and my pay is.......not a dime.

In fact I pay thousands just to do it.

(I got an email from the physicist I have worked with since 2004 and he is a bit under the weather so maybe I'll send a reply at halftime....he is the one who started and runs what is called SixTrack at CERN).......ya you can look him up if you are really bored....Eric McIntosh

Happy St. Patrick's Day. I guess. Never did really embrace the day. Oh sure, I'd act all excited to go out and drink and all, but it really never made much sense to me. I'm not Irish. Look at my name... anything there make you think of kissing some piece of rock that drunks have been slobbering over for centuries? Now there are aspects that are cool. One of my longtime customers has been the Gordon Pipers. This is a bagpipe group, drummers, dancers, the pipes, of course that has graced the streets of Indianapolis and Speedway, IN in particular, for decades. Their President and big-time ambassador is a long-time friend, Doug Hardwick. Doug's roots go back to Indy car as a mechanic, occasional driver, co-crew chief and bagpipe player. The Indianapolis 500 Gordon Pipers have been a fixture at IMS and have befriended any Scottish, Irish, and English driver at the track. They embrace them all, but pay them a bit more attention. Their St Patty's day routine is nothing short of crazy. Up at 4-5am to prep for the "Greening of the canal," which is covered extensively on TV, to the rounds of a long list of bars and restaurants via motor coach. Their last stop is usually around 10:45-11:00 pm. I used to catch up with them at a nearby scheduled stop and tag along for 2-3 of their stops. Support my guys (and gals) and I just love the sound of a bagpipe. Threatened for years to have Doug show up at her wedding or reception. This year they've got a rough weekend. Friday - Saturday - and even a few Sunday stops.

HOW 'BOUT THEM DAWGS! Butler comes through with another first round win! They are 11-1 in opening games in the NCAA Tournament. Lavall Jordan (another first year coach) is the 6th Butler Head Coach to win his first game in the tourney as a head coach. 2 seniors on the team became the first 4-year BU players to play-in and win their first round games in the NCAAs all 4 years. That's cool. The Dawgs now get another IN team, Purdue. Purdue's big man - jumbo-sized - 7-2, 290 stud - Haas is injured and out. Purdue is still tough, but a huge piece of that team is missing. Can my Dawgs take out the Boilermakers and avenge an earlier season spanking? (Purdue won by 15) Time will tell. Never count out Butler.

Had to send in the renewal check for the Colts season tickets. A few seasons back there were 12 seats on my ticket account. A five-figure renewal invoice. This year, we've shrunk back to the original number of 4 seats on the account. Crazy how the number shifts. I'll not give up these 4. Maybe it'll grow back again, but I'll preserve the Walther tradition of having had season tickets from day 1 of the Indianapolis era of the Colts.

Ok, I'm done rambling... carry on. Luck 'o the Irish be wit ya.

Nice rambling Kurt smile

Yeah I remember most of my life having to make sure I was wearing something green and even the beer drinkin' and hell raisin' lol

I even checked yesterday to see that I had green on since I forgot what day it was........but these days I don't drink the booze and I see I have no green on wtf

I did tell the wife I was so tired of the freaks in this country while watching the news that I was thinking about moving to Scotland or Ireland ........if I could put the 5 acres on a ship to bring it with me lol

Now as far as college basketball.......I hate it......every year I do those picks and they always SUCK.....like my pick of Notre Dame today......they got ass-kicked by Penn State

College players always play like crap on national tv or on the road (so I am watching GOLF right now)

But I just picked Kansas to beat Seton Hall.........so Kansas will probably lose.
I could have picked Gonzaga but I saw the hilites of their last game and they barely won so I don't trust those twerps.

Now as far as our COLTS......brother don't EVER lose those season tickets!!!!

You are like one of those famous season ticket people they have at the Frozen Tundra.........I wish I could have done that myself......but the Colts never would move to Port Ludlow lol

Hell I just woke up a half hour ago at 1pm ......sheesh.....and I was feeling like staying in bed.......maybe because it is a sunny day and the wife didn't turn the heat off.

I do wish my GREEN today was me on a putting green.

I have switched to bowling on mondays but just my bleepin' luck my doctor calls and says this MONDAY I have to go to the hospital for a "nuclear stress test" so I have to wait 2 weeks to bowl and I know I will forget all the tips the local pro was giving me bluehoo

I have no bleeping luck ever.

Well I bet you will be watching the Butler- Purdue game.......I have to skip that pick after that Purdue tower got injured after being fouled 10,000 times lol

I got Lucky Charms today picking Michigan and getting a game winning 3 at the buzzer after the other team missed 2 FT's with 4 seconds left.

I picked Xavier so they will probably lose with another 3 at the buzzer in this one Basketball

Oops. Gave it up down the stretch.

Bluitt (Sr) for X and CJ Walker (Frosh) for FL St are both local Indy boys.

Most brackets are officially dumpster fires. Not mine, though.

So we bought the little lady a new set of wheels and traded my Hyundai Azera, in favor of her 08 Edge. My mechanic said mine was the one to roll, it was a year older, and to be honest, I was "over" it.
I've been driving and enjoying the Edge - until last Wednesday. Dropped the bro-in-law off at the airport and was headed back to my side of town (opposite) when poof! It loses power and starts shuddering as I'm on I-70. Nice. Long story short, $2000 repair bill. Now I must decide if I put $2K into a $5-6000 vehicle, or just cut my losses and sell as-is and go get me a new set of wheels, too. So on Jan. 15, I had no car payments and now, 60 days later, it appears I'll have two... wtf

DAMN modern cars are more trouble than the good old days when we could just fix them ourselves.

The wifes Honda Accord died on us as we were headed down the hiway toward the floating bridge (would have REALLY sucked if it died ON that bridge)

I was going along at 60MPH and it didn't make a sound but I saw the tach drop to 0 and trying to give it gas did no good.

Coasted off to a tiny pull-over spot and sat there for a minute trying to figure out how to call a tow truck........

I tried to start it several times and it would fire up.......and die........about 10 times.

Then after a few minutes I tried it again and it started up and I looked out on the hiway to see if it was safe and turned the damn thing around and drove the 4 miles or so back home as fast as I could (in case I had to do any coasting)

Well first thing I did was figure out how to start it and turn up the idle so it would quit dying out in the yard.

Then our next trip to Walmart in MY damn modern car I got a bottle of Lucas oil fuel system cleaner when I saw it since ......well hell it is Lucas Oil AND it says on the bottle it is guaranteed because it says Lucas Oil  lol

Well after that I took it on a test drive after it idled there and didn't die down to where our post office is and it made it there and back just like normal..

So next trip to Walmart I got another bottle and poured it in her car and my car.

Since then mine has been getting better gas mileage (it is a gas hog Chrysler 300M) and her Honda has been driving for her just like normal again (so I will buy another bottle next trip and that stuff isn't cheap either)

The funny thing is it has been over a month now and the appointment at the only good mechanic around here I made back then is still not until April 5th and he said it would be $100 just to put it on that test machine........well as you might guess the car is not making that appointment.

And tomorrow is monday so I will make my 50 mile round trip to the local bowling alley and get back to trying to be sort of decent rolling the 15lb ball again with the local PBA semi-retired pro (his son is also a PBA player)

I go every monday since at noon the place is almost empty and I like it that way.......and the young guy there plays me my kind of music too. (local radio station plays "Lunch with Led Zeppelin" )

I missed last monday because my doctor made my only time to get a nuclear stress test at the hospital on bleepin' MONDAY........haven't got his talk about the results of the test but the nice young lady that did the main part  (me on the table with a camera that take pictures of the heart after adding some Marie Curie nuclear to my blood system and she said it looked pretty good considering I had the heart attacks and stents back in 2009 needhelp angel

So I will be back to rollin TEN games in a row.......over 100 frames tomorrow.

In my younger days I always figured I would be like Pistol Pete Maravich and end up on the basketball floor.

Looks like it will be more like an old bowler from the 1970's

Good luck Kurt......oh btw my pro bowler friends name is Curt. and Curt Jr........sort of close cheerstoyou

So I posted the broken Edge on Craig's List for $1 just to see what I could find... hoping in my mind to get $3000-3500 for a vehicle not running...

Received an offer of $2500. Split the difference and sold it for $2750. Cash. In my hand. For a broken SUV with 130,000 miles. I'm good with that.
My nature certainly hopes the thing gets fixed and provides them with another 100,000 of good miles.

Now, I get to go and figure out what's next. Full sized car? SUV? No idea. No hurry, though. Driving my mother's 2003 Caddy - big boat sedan. She's in Naples, FL until the end of April, so I have some time. Until then, cruisin' in the big ass land yacht.

Surprised you got cash like that for the dead car but you never know on Craigs List

Caddy cruisin' sound fine to me.

One of these days the weather will be nice enough to get out and wash the Winter dirt off of my 1999 Chrysler 300M because it will still look good if I finally do that.

Always wonder what I would do with that car if it ever croaked under the hood.

The interior is too nice to just junk it.

This is the day after bowling so just sitting on the couch is all I will be doing (try rolling a 15lb ball about 220 times without a break)

yes, that

So Easter evening brought 2-3 inches of snow. Melted on the streets and sidewalks, but was beautiful on the trees. Was all melted away by noon Monday. Right now as I sit here, it is thunderstorms rumbling through... Supposed to clear up, then later this afternoon, the winds kick up with expected 40-50 mph gusts along with the mid 60s temps... That front is expected to generate some tornadoes. Then, Wednesday afternoon... more snow.

Mother Nature, like most women, just can't make up her mind.

Snow in the Spring is the sign of Global Cooling..........we should write a book and make a movie about this so we can get millions of dollars like Al Gore did lol

I like snow that paints the trees white and then melts later in the day......IN THE WINTER Angry old man on the porch's observations... - Page 2 3959983706

We usually get wind here this time of year so it can beat all the flowers off the magnolia trees but so far it has been pretty mild so most of the flowers are still in the trees and it has rained and hailed a couple times but this is Washington so minutes later the Sun comes out.

Sunny and mid 50's again today and nice yesterday too......but I was in the bowling alley from noon until 4pm so I didn't see any until the drive back home sunny

Of course the women was ready to bitch and complain as soon as I got back in the house dammit
