I am watching 2 hours of bowling on espn instead of these jackasses wearing helmets and pads to cover up the dumbass things they say.

Given I'm one that was a high    school-er in the 70's, it should come as no surprise that I am an advocate of the decriminalization of the doobs.  To me it is just like booze... self control and personal responsibility.  I am a believer in the medicinal qualities of marijuana.  I may or may not have utilized the weed for exactly that while awaiting back surgery a couple times - with the "blessing" of a neuro-surgeon that will go unnamed here.  Let's see... eat copious amounts of manufactured pain pills and stay awake for days - 10 days on 17 total hours of sleep (true dat) - or partake of a natural plant from God's good earth and receive the same benefit - and not have my bowels tied up tighter than Magic's fingers around a Franklin AND be able to get some rest.

That said, I've been saying for several years that the states that were "legalizing" the chronic were getting waaaay ahead of themselves.  It. Remains. A. Federal. Offense.  All it took was for a new administration - ahem - to take a different stance - ahem - and their leafy green empires could/would come tumbling down.  Go up in smoke, if you will.
Well guess what.  Huh... who would've thunk.  

Sure wish there was a way to make money off of good old common sense.  I guess if the Feds can't get their hands in the pot 'o cash being made, then no one can.  Just think of all the money that could be raised to... I dunno... re-fund Social Security?  Pay for universal health-care?  Explore the world we live on - you do realize that there are places on this earth we haven't been/can't go to (see: bottom of the oceans) - rather than send billion dollar space ships to galaxies far, far away (so we can have cool enhanced pictures)?

Just me here in BF Washington knows of several that while smoking and driving and paying no attention drove at 60+mph into a tree or and other car and killed themselves and other people.

Funny the only thing I can think about is how the car I drive these days is a gas hog so most of the money would be in that gas tank......I do like to coast and drive the speed limit these days......but still....it is a gas hog.

I could take her fuel efficient Honda Accord ........if she was going too........her 2 kids are in their 40's and STILL bother their mom daily and not with any normal things........I have one that is 35 and a typical jackass we have these days........(he won't be in my Will)

But then all my relatives are gone.......just some half-brothers and sister my mom decided to make after I was 19 so I don't know them and none of them are people I could even put up with.

Wish I could make the government just make it a National Park .....oh yeah I would have to fill double the hummingbird feeders so this batch of 30 winter H-birds always have food.

Then I have this Masonic situation.....actually one is my moms brother who I haven't actually seen since about 1974 and her sisters who I also haven't seen and they are all in their upper 70's

After that.......well I just did a DNA test and since I am a computer geek I have found living DNA matches all over the world and traced my Dads side back over 500 years to Surrey England before they moved over to Virginia in the early 1600's.....and as far as mom I only traced her with the DNA

If only we had 10,000 BC members and I got a lucky win this time or gold would rain down on my lawn........or PCH would drive up in a van with that .......pile of cash for life

Listen up now. Here are the musing from my front porch rocker:

I am very happy to play the BC next year just the way it is but; I have some suggestions of how we might tinker with it. Just seems like our point allocation could be changed to keep from the Superbowl having so much weight on the outcome. Here are some thought:

* Leave the regular season exactly as it is. Don't change a damn thing.
* Give the Divisional Champ 5 points, he/she earned it will all of their hard work though out the year.
* Increase the wild cards to 3 and give them 2.5 points to start the postseason.
* Round 1 .. Up the best bet points to 2 points. These are more important games than regular season games. Give the 3 team parlay 2 points as well
* Round 2 .. Up the best bet and 3 team parlays to 3 points each
*Round 3 .. This is the Championship round. Up the best bet points to 5 but don't have 3 team parlay

SuperBowl

* Leave the pre superbowl picks the same. Can't remember many people getting it right anyhow
* Give 10 points to the superbowl winner against the spread
* Give 5 points to the over under
* Give 2.5 points to the straight up winner
* Give 2.5 points to the closest to the point total at halftime and another 2.5 full game total
* Give 3 points to the MVP candidate

Leave all of the prop bets intact but only give 1/2 point to each. They are fun but should not have a heavy interest in helping to crown our King!

But like I said, more than happy to play next year just the way it is ..

Well Eh Say, I can suck and lose with those tweaks just as easily as I can suck and lose with the current point structure.
No difference to me. Just as long as I can keep asking the King of Concrete what his address is year after year after year...

It just sounds like you want to make it so I win more often instead of you guys all the time.......maybe add that the 3rd place guy gets most of the Chips too

BTW sure it sounds like 5 for a division winner and 3 for the wild cards sound great if you are one of them but if you miss those by just one point you won't be happy starting with 0 points and the ones you barely lose to starting 5 or 3 ahead of you.

And Wildcard weekend is 4 games and there are already 5 points there and sure maybe call it a perfecta that gets more than 5 if you get them all (but I got the only one so if you want to give me even MORE than those 5 points I will be happy to have them )

And those same 5 points for the Divisional playoff weekend where here too since there is 4 games. (no perfectas there this year) so the only place I see raising that would also making the perfecta worth more than the basic 5 points)

Then the Conference playoffs is just two games......I can see maybe making the best bets 2 points each and the parlay 3 total so you could get 7 for that final playoff week.........I'm sure Kurt and Prime would like that this year but most of us didn't get anything more than one point so I know that 0 you just got would help you much

And this is the first season we even had the Division winner getting 3 points and the Wildcard getting 1.5 and all the other seasons it was only 1 and 2 points for that and I DID think that was insane after all those regular season weeks picking.

THAT is why I raised it to 3pts and 1.5pts at the start of the season.

I could see maybe 4 and 2 as the bonus next season.........THIS season me getting to use all of my 43 points along with my 12 playoff points sounds even better since 55 points going into SB Sunday would be a easy win

But, another way to look at it is the people that start out with zero have a way to make up huge ground as the playoffs progress. meaning they actually have a great chance to catch up

So we picked up the lovely bride's new wheels this weekend... traded in my 07 Hyundai Azrera for a 17 Buick Envision that she'll drive. I roll into her Ford Edge. We're an all all wheel drive household now. The reason I'm angry and out on the porch... have a car payment again. Been payment free for 5 yrs.
