This should have been handed to me that day.

BALTIMORE -- Johnny Unitas was in the midst of a Hall of Fame career when he walked off the field and handed his helmet to a young member of the Baltimore Colts Marching Band.

The white helmet, with a blue horseshoe on each side and the numbers 1 and 9 on the back separated by a blue stripe, was a treasured item in John Ziemann's personal memorabilia collection.
But the helmet will go to the highest bidder at a sports memorabilia auction in Exton, Pa., on Friday and Saturday. Also up for auction: the first contract Unitas signed with the Colts, and a sterling silver tea service presented to the quarterback after the Colts won the 1959 world championship.

No way would I sell that.
