Oh Comcast why are you letting me down?
Been here since last Wednesday. Still no comcast service.
So I raised hell... I am an on call Technician 24/7/365 I HAVE to have a high speed connection. So they go back to their shop and set me up a business class WiFi connection "somewhere" in the building....
My line has been cut somehwere or disconnected and they can't find the break.
I ought to bring in my Fluke from work, it will show where the break is give the distance to the millimeter.
So at the least I have a high speed connection available, but I won't hook up any of my servers etc to it.

See what happens when you become a computer geek/IT
You will have to fix things all the time.
Tomorrow I will finally get UPS to deliver my new HD so I can get my #7 pc back up.
Funny thing is my order started in Florida and just tonight arrived in REDMOND WA of all places.
Hell stop by Microsoft and install the OS and all the drivers for me tonight so I don't have to.
(I know .....linux )
Good luck

Just keeps going back to HD boot
F10 doesn't even mention the CD Rom on the Boot list
This is putting me to sleep after about 6 hours of trying to get the damn thing to boot from disc
Alright... who the hell IS this? Magic, this yet another one of your myriad of alteregos? Or do I need another __? : a. Vodka b. Bourbon (of course) c. Beer

Re: Oh Comcast why are you letting me down?
Sounds like you had a bourbon already Kurt
(remember the pm you sent me last week? )
You can tell that I am on a certain pc when that name comes up since it is still logged in with that name.
......and I still haven't talked that HD into using the disc to boot so pc #7 is still just sitting here and last night I took its GeForce video card and got it to finally work in the damn slow as a snail pc with Windows 8.1 (had to figure out how to get in the bios and tell it to allow a video card since the 8.1 has this goofy security that blocks the video card.
So now I am a 8.1 expert
Not sure why my new HD won't accept the XP Pro disc though and I need that pc to run ..........long story but it is the #1 computer @ the Cern LHC http://lhcathome2.cern.ch/test4theory/top_hosts.php?sort_by=total_credit

I have Uverse internet, and after my year trial was up the bill tripled, I called them and told them I need a mailing address for their equiptment, the dumby asked me was ATT losing a customer, I told her Brighthouse said they would give me 24.99 a month for unlimited access..She put me on hold, then came back and told me they would extend my contract another 18 months.
Its going to be interesting to see what happens inthe upcoming months since ATT just bought Direct TV
