Really mighty? I'm new to the rules of the game but I always thru a chip on the pass line til after the first roll, then whatever he shoots then I go after the numbers that are spinning in my head. If the shooter throws a 6, my next move is to throw chips on the 6, 8 and a little something on hard 8.

Imagine if you 2 lived here where we are surrounded by these indian casino's   

They have tv commercials all day here trying to get even more money and if one was a bit closer to us we would go see Smokey Robinson last night

Naw, dude......you can't make a Pass Line bet after a Point has been established.
 
What you're thinking of are Place Bets...you can make those bets at any time. You can increase, decrease or remove Place Bets after any roll of the Bones until the 7-out.
 
For example, here's a senario:
 
You walk up to the table but don't make any bets until the shooter rolls a Point, let's say it's a 6.
 
You then throw down a bet on the Pass Line, and the Dealer throws it back in your face, laughs at your hilairous style of clothes and flirts with your woman right in front of you, telling her, "Hey babe, don't you know that a Hard 8 is a girl's best friend?"   
 
After threatening the Dealer with Painful Retribution and reestablishing your Manhood, you then throw down two $25 (green) Chips and tell the Shmuck Dealer, "Place the Six for $48, you scumbag."
 
The Dealer then places your bet and returns two $1 Chips to you, unwilling to make eye-contact with you because of Fear   
 
The Shooter then rolls a Six, and you collect your winnings (6 & 8 pays 7:6, 5 & 9 pays 7:5, 4 & 10 pays 9:5) along with your original bet. You then laugh at Shmuck Dealer as you walk away, leaving him no Tip.
