MEMORIES OF WHAT BOB IRSAY DID TO BALTIMORE... Time will not dim the shame of his deeds... This is a piece believed to be from Sports Illustrated in the 1980's...

I'm pretty sure that the fans of the INDIANAPOLIS Colts take great pride in the fact that you continue to be eaten alive at those memories.

Cravn, that article was written in the offseason of 1987, Ron Meyer's first year with the Colts. That was 20 years ago this year.

1987 was also the strike year, remember? The "Scrubs"? hellyes

Well, the Colts went 9-7 that year and won the AFC East!! laughing

I'm pretty sure that was also the year when the Colts made the big 3-team trade for Eric Dickerson, which included the Colts sending rookie LB "Corny" Bennett ( a future pro bowler) to the Bills, and veteran pro bowl LT Chris Hinton to the Falcons.

True to form, Bob the Drunk made the braindead, drunk trade that sent two pro bowlers away who would have been major contributers well into the 1990s, all in exchange for a running back who only had 2 good years left in the tank when he arrived in Indy.......similiar to Edgerrin James with the Cardinals.

That guy wasn't a winner....he was the biggest loser the NFL ever knew. But you can't say he didn't care about the Colts....he did care. He loved the team very much. But he was just a loser.

Mighty, he did NOT care about the Colts, dont forget he did own the LA Rams first. He didn't know anything about our history, or he would have never have sold JohnnyU to the Bolts in 73. You know his first year as owner of the Colts. Plus he himself didn't have the balls to tell Johnny he was sold to San Diego, he sent an office secretary down to tell JU.

Like I said a 100 times, the year he tokk over the Colts, he shopped them around in Tampa..

It's all in the past Cravn...

Whats dne is done and it is what it is... Jimmy is a much better owner than his dad and is committed to putting the best team he can on the field.
