Lets see if we can get 100 yards on the ground to make the passing game even better.

Wow.
I like Jim's aggressiveness.
This is a vast departure from the Polian years.

Yeah I agree and hope this guy will give us a good running game along with Ahmad Bradshaw and even getting him in the passing game since it has been a long time since we had a "Marshall Faulk"

We were hearing rumors about this at work all week, but we aren't allowed to talk about these things...
But very glad it happened.
Be sure to read the article at The Star!

I like that Jimmy opened up the pocketbook, but this is all about Ryan Grigson. Its starting to look like RG will the one everyone will be compared-to.mighty_colts wrote:Wow.

You are supposed to be watching Red Eye when you stay up this late Kurt (ok if I have to tell you what this is I need to take you to my Political Science class )
And you have been skipping my physics class for many years now so your grade will have to be an......A+ if you always agree with me
But as far as our Colts I have no problem with us having 2 of the top 3 picks in last years NFL Draft.
Especially since one was never named Ryan Leaf

Re: Browns trade RB Richardson to Colts
If 18 carries for 58 yards gives you hope then have at it, Colts would have done better bringing in McGahee, I couls of given you a sweet deal on my McGahee jersey..
Richardson is a top 5 pick, he wants to be paid as such too, Also if you signed Richardson to be a blocking back(because that is what you truly need) then McGahee is way better in that area.
You get the Texans twice, and Titans twice, they are building some nice Defenses.
You all might be booing Trent in a few weeks

Re: Browns trade RB Richardson to Colts
Uh, John... there's a reason he's not on a roster and available.
I'll take a top 5 draft pick in his second year over a guy that's had a nice career, but to be considered damaged goods and past his prime now, all day/everyday. Just because he was a Raven at one time doesn't make him something special today.

Ah Kurt, why would a team trade their #1 pick from a year ago?
Manning wishes he had mcgahee back with his latest loss on the o-line

Re: Browns trade RB Richardson to Colts
This Just In .... Browns sign running back Willis Mcgahee!! Got just as much talent and production from a running back for what 14mil less ?

Re: Browns trade RB Richardson to Colts
However, having said that.....it's an established fact that it take a couple of years for a brand new O-line to jell and become productive
But at least we have the pieces in place all along the O-line and in the BackField to serve us well for years to come

You do realize Leaveland drafts garbage dont cha? name the last time a first rd pick has panned out for them..
Now you got the added bonus of getting a RB who's pissed off that he wasnt notified of the trade.

Re: Browns trade RB Richardson to Colts
Every team that played the Browns played 9 in the box. There was NO threat of the pass with that POS QB they have. They covered the run, that's it. In the new situation for him, the pass threat is real, and the defenses will not be able to smother him. Its called play action, as I recall. I think he'll thrive in this situation as compared to Cleveland. This will be the steal of the century if it works out. We're paying 6 mil (?) for the balance of the contract, as I understand it. For the #3 pick in last year's draft. Cleveland took a helluva hit.cravnravn wrote:Ah Kurt, why would a team trade their #1 pick from a year ago?

Oh, and FU*# McGahee. As said earlier, there's a reason he wasn't on a roster and available.

Re: Browns trade RB Richardson to Colts
Good call, I should have thought of that myself.
I never stopped to think about how teams played Cleveland, since Richardson was their only offensive threat.

Re: Browns trade RB Richardson to Colts
LOL Richardson is ecstatic to be getting out of Cleveland and playing with Luck and Wayne and Co.
We got the #1 and #3 players out of last years draft, and Richardson played alot of last season with a broken wrist.
It's gonna almost be like having a Young Peyton and James in the same backfield again. Lotsa, lotsa fun. Couldn't be happier!

Kurt, Im fine, even the guys on the NFL Channel echo my thoughts, you got yourselves a 14 million dollar blocking back, and you could of had McGahee for 1/14th of that to do the same thingColtsKurt wrote:Take off the purple haze glasses, John.cravnravn wrote:

Re: Browns trade RB Richardson to Colts
He doesn't need to be a HOFer....with Luck under center, he just needs to be a threat, which he'll be. Just like Kurt said, teams can't key on him anymore. Richardson ran for over a grand last year even with all attention focused on him.

Re: Browns trade RB Richardson to Colts
Yeah, it's bad now, but like I said, the main pieces of the O-line are in place, and it takes a few years for it to jell. That's been the case with us forever.
Give it another year or two, and look out.
But I still took the Colts to win the SB because......because.......hey man, I'm a fan
