Looks like he means the Indy version of 30 years.

BTW since you are here........you ever try to load a OS on a new HD and it refuses to do it?

I have one that never gets as far as reading the disc (error message only) and I have checked the bios which is about all it lets me do.

I am trying to add 2 more pc's to my physics cloud......and I rarely even ask anyone a question about pc problems lol

What OS are you trying to load? It won't even load the disk into memory for the install?

Well it had been running Win7 for over 2 years and one day I decided to use my XP Pro SP3 disc since it  was never used and it started to do the loading like it does and then quit......then after that it would not boot the Win7 and it does nothing with the XP .........just an error at the top left of the black screen telling me to ctrl-alt-delete and try again but it still won't do anything beyond that over and over.

It did let me run the hardware test (F9) and it says everything is OK bluehoo

I have tried loading 2 different HD's with this XP Pro on this pc and it won't load.

It has 8GB Ram and a new 750 watt PSU and a newer GTX 550Ti and the original AMD Athlon II X4 630

Sounds like you need to go into the SATA settings in the bios and see if it will let you switch it to ATA instead of AHCI. With 8 gbs of RAM thought I would stick to Win7 since XP can only address about 3 GB (they say 4 but its a damn lie)....... And just throw XP pro in a VM since you would have plenty of RAM to run both well.

Or just throw a much more stable and secure Linux OS on there sunny

Yeah I tried the bios settings first thing but it doesn't let you do much.

I wish I had a disc for the Win7 OS but didn't get a disc with any of mine and a couple of them don't even have the recovery D: partition

Even though we use linux science at the projects it doesn't work running the GPU processing @ Einstein-Max Planck

Wish I had a Win7 OS disc just to see if it would load and start booting and running again.

You are right about the Ram problem with a x86 since I have 2 of them and they have 8GB ram and even recognize it but will only use 3567.25 MB on one and 3695.25 MB on the other.

So if you have a Win7 OS disc with the  product key to activate  send it to me hellyes (or and average 7,200 HD with Win7 already loaded that you want to donate to science)

I will have a HD with the Win8 to replace it with tomorrow but still need a HD with a Windows OS that works to use on one of the 2 quad-cores I am adding to my fleet tomorrow.

I have one of the deals that should be here tomorrow via UPS that is only $400 with a quad 3.2 and the Win8 1 TB and 8GB ram so I can use that HD or switch the PSU and 550Ti card to that one.

And you can use the same PSU to run GPU cards on 2 separate desktops if they have the power (this one is 750watt) so if I did have a HD running Win7 to add I could run both pc's and would just find a cheap price on another nVidia 550Ti

(oh and the COLTS suck right now)
