Re: Just an average game @ Denver
WTF???
My sister didn't tell me she flew to Denver for that game
But that's just like my sister, though.......one time she ran out on the field during a Patriots/Jets game, and intercepted a Brady pass. She juked her way to PayDirt for a nifty Pick-6
Then she got arrested

Re: Just an average game @ Denver
Yep, the Jets gave her one of those red Monopoly get-outta-jail-free cards. She only spent 53 seconds in the slammer, then she played her Jail Card and was back home in a few hours
The Jets gave her that card in gratitude, because the officials on the field gave the Jets credit for the TD that my sister scored, and the Jets ended up beating Belicheck by 1 point

After my sister played her Jail Card, she caught a flight to Indy and stole Kurt's car, and drove back to Tucson

Then Kurt made a killing on the insurance settlement and retired to an island in the Caribbean and lived happily ever after.

Re: Just an average game @ Denver
Then my sister sued Kurt's insurance company for "Negligent and Unlawful Legal Action". The Judge ruled in her favor. The Judge not only awarded my sister all of Kurt's personal worldly wealth and future retirement fund and pension, but she was also awarded full title and deed to the Carribean island to which Kurt tried to make his escape from the unrelenting reality of Justice.
After assuming ownership of the island, my sister promptly evicted Kurt.
Kurt then moved back to Indy, seeking political and judicial assylum, and bought a new car out of his own pocket, and vowed to start his live over again by working at the local auto parts store

Re: Just an average game @ Denver
And then one day I stopped by that auto parts store to get some oil and a filter and Kurts boss was mad at him for selling the wrong parts to another customer so he ordered Kurt to go out and change my oil in the parking lot.
Just to be nice I parked next to Kurts 1974 Pinto so he didn't have to carry his tools very far.
He did complain about it being real hot under my car when he was changing the oil so I handed him a Abe as a tip as I drove away..............

And it was at this very moment that a flock of seagulls flew overhead and dropped thier payload.
Kurt was NOT a happy camper!!
Standing there, covered in Seagull Payload, soaked in motor oil, in the parking lot of the local auto parts store, Kurt declared out loud as Magic pulled out of the parking lot:
"I wonder how our new 3-4 is gonna turn out???"

Wow, this thread sure took an ugly turn...
But you forgot about the part where all the worldly posessions were owned by a trust and Kurt owned nothing. But he did control the management of the trust, of course.

Re: Just an average game @ Denver
It happens to people all the time.....they think of completely unrelated things at the craziest times.
For example, years ago I was in a scuffle involving a handful of dudes at a party, and while everybody is screaming and throwing punches, I suddenly began thinking about a fishing trip I took a few years earlier
Go figure.
So that's why you began thinking about our new 3-4 defense while covered in seagull turds and motor oil.....
Cravn, no.....my sister is the one standing at the window while Farve is peeking inside

Hey Kurt, speaking of the Caribbean, you ever been on a cruise? I have not, Im petrified of the alcohol bill they hit you with at the end
BUT, living this close to Cape Canaveral they are offering a 4 day cruise to Key West, Nassau, and Grand Bahama Island for 197.00 a person. I figured after all the "stress" Ive been under I might give it a try..But only on advise..My Mom loves to Cruise, I just like to get on a plane and get to our destination in 3 hrs and then bake myself for a week.

Been on at least 7 cruises, John. We LOVE it! As a matter of fact, we're heading out on another one in November. Princess cruise to the Panama Canal. My mother called and wants to treat the bride and I, my sis and her husband. Gonna be a 10 day-er with stops in Aruba, Columbia, Panama, Costa Rica, and Gr Cayman.
That $200 - 4 day trip will not be representative of the cruise-life. It will be an older, smaller ship. Don't base the cruising experience on that one alone.
As far as the bar bill... well, that bill is for all on-board expenses. Excursions, booze, purchases at the shops on-board, bingo, etc. Most I've ever had to pony up was like $800 - and that time we had a lot of excursions. The last cruise (of the Baltic Sea) was pretty much all alcohol, as the trip included many of our excursions, the bill was only $300 or so. But keep in mind the bride is not a big drinker, by any stretch of the imagination.

Re: Just an average game @ Denver
I don't want to see you guys on the news captured by pirates or at the bottom of the sea in one of those cruises
I actually never go anywhere but if I do it will be driving in my car around north America.
Every time I see those airports on the news with security guys rubbing customers between the legs and all the rest........
I don't even let a doctor do that unless they put me under.
And I can't imagine watching them do that BS to the wife.
Rather drive in style with my Desert Eagle and Ben Franklin
The wife does want to go to Iceland.....in the summer....so I guess a drive to the NE and then a short cruise on a ship.
Sure I would like to visit Europe but they would have to keep all the people at a distance since the world is 90% freaks now

Re: Just an average game @ Denver
As you may recall, magic, we did the Baltic Sea a year ago. We never felt ill at ease at all. Copenhagen, Denmark, Kiel, Germany, Stockholm Sweden, Talin, Estonia, and St. Petersburg, Russia were the stops.
Not a typical Caribbean cruise by any means, but an incredible experience, nonetheless.
Panama Canal, here we come! Better have some good, top-shelf booze on that cruise ship.

This is going to be great!!
My cousin owns 2 time shares at Ron Johns, which is right next to the Cape and hes giving us his parking pass which is good 365 days a year.
And we changed cruise lines, that 197 was on Carnival, which we were told was the "younger" crowd, we will book on Caribbean Cruise Lines which the same cruise was 213 a person..I would go on Carnival, but the Mrs would probably leave me after we docked

Yeah I remember your trip to the Baltic.......in fact I followed you via one of those satellite earth programs so I could zoom in and look at all the places you cruised by on that trip.
Sounded and looked like a trip you will always remember!
We had old friends that did a cruise through the Panama Canal and showed us the video and they had a nice trip and they were in their 80's so if they can do it you can handle that trip
The main problem I have with flying is the airport security.......they can check everyone else but they don't need to be putting their hands on me and the wife
She likes the ship cruise idea but it is always "Alaska" and hell she lived up there and I have seen enough of Alaska on PBS
The Mediterranean sounds like a cool trip....but still all those countries are full of socialist fruits but I would like to see all the famous cities over there.
I don't know how you guys can travel so much though.....I would have to have a nice hotel and plenty of time getting used to making those trips

Re: Just an average game @ Denver
We travel as often as possible now, because who knows what happens tomorrow? Do it while you can... health issues could keep you from doing so next year. I can take a bus all over this US of A when I feel too old to travel abroad. I'll enjoy the sights of the carib - above water and below - and go places I've seen on TV and in the books over the years now. Plenty of places to roam when the time daily grind stops grinding me up.
See it happen all the time with the in-laws. Can't go here or do that because of doctor appts., because "we want to take all you kids to Hawaii," or "oh, we'll do it next year." Wake up and smell the coffee, folks... the doc will be there when you return; unless you hit the lottery, you ain't takin' 8 to Hawaii, let alone yourselves; next year won't be any different than last year... or the previous 12.

WHAT KURT SAID!!!
I agree 300% do not wait, you see what happened to my father in law, they finally reached a time in their life where they were very comfortable, they moved to a Sr living place, Terri and I talked them into going to St Croix with us in 2009 and he was like a kid in a candy store. Then I got my bad news in 2010 and Terri and I passed on trip to the caribbean and put our home on the market and have been so called vacationing in Florida. But last year the FIL got the news in August that he had pancreatic cancer and due to his lungs being so weak from his prior accident, he'd never survive a surgery. He was gone Oct 7th.
If you're going to do it, do it!!!

Re: Just an average game @ Denver
Kurt, have you considered taking a boat to pirate territory and search for buried pirate treasure? Like in the movies?
Although today's pirates have RPG's and 50 cal. autos.
You'll need more than a stolen pirate map and a shovel

If that's an offer to fund such a worthy cause, I'll start shopping for a different boat...
