I ensured that no snow will fall in Indy this season... bought the son a snow blower for Christmas. If it works, it'll be the best spent $$ in years!
Cravn... mix in a 2-3 car attached (and heated) garage... If I ever build, mine will have floor drains and concrete block up about 4' all around, so I can also wash the rides inside!

Re: CRAVN IN THE SNOW
Yes I do have a 2 Car Shed..LOL
It has the John Deere in it, the power washer, the generator, all my tools..
Not a single car.
And that Mr Bill is our new Chevy Equinox, My Dad left it to me..
And the P/U truck, I traded that gas hog in for 2 small cars that get over 32 MPG..I was literally spending 200.00 a week in gas just to go to work..Great vehicle, shitty mileage, probably about 14mpg.
When I retire in 16 months 5 days, I will get another P/U truck, most likely Chevy, and I'll work part time a bunch closer to home.
And I will have a snow mover, real soon..Either a toro self powered one or an attatchment for the Deere, the attatchment is nice, it has a 42" clearing runs about 1400, the Toro is 1000..But I wont put the wear and strain on the JD..

Re: CRAVN IN THE SNOW
Or, you could move into a nice condo like I did 5 years ago and watch the men shovel the walkways and clear the driveway of the 14" of snow we had. All while sipping a nice cup of java.

Re: CRAVN IN THE SNOW
Well, you could do the "snow bird" thing and live in PA during the warmer months then head south from October through March. That's what my brother does. Actually, he's technically a Florida resident since he lives there (in a condo) just over 6 months out of the year then comes back home (he lives in the same condo complex as I do) for the rest. If you can afford it, it seems like having the best of both worlds. And, right now, Florida housing is very cheap (watch out for hurricane insurance, however).

Re: CRAVN IN THE SNOW
Thats why I will keep my place because here on the Olympic Peninsula we have the pacific ocean and the straits with the San Juan Islands and the Olympic mountains and beaches all over the place and cities if you want to drive to them and then we have the Cascade mountains and then all the lakes and then eastern Washington is like the desert with Moses Lake in the middle heading east.
Oh yeah and the hot springs here too.....and a big river next to both.
And the rain forests.
But I do think having a winter place down in Arizona sounds good since I don't like the stuff that goes along with snow.....fun to look out the window at snow but not going outside to shovel that shit
Now I see why my Dad and all his Puget Power guys bought winter homes down there so they can play golf and not worry about winter snow and power going out and still can come back up here in the spring and summer.
I was looking out in the trees today and look what I saw!!!!!
A rare Pennsylvania tree

Re: CRAVN IN THE SNOW
Dont get me wrong Magic, where Im at now is ideal, we're 3 hrs west of the Alleghany Mountains, Im literally on the Susquehana River, which puts me less than 5 miles off the Chesapeke Bay. And Im two hours from the Atlantic Ocean.
3 Years ago this was the best place in America to be..But you know how it is I have the big 5-0 staring at me, the body is sore, getting firewood isnt fun anymore, I see snow and the old back just goes, damnnnn.
See I would be all right riding my John Deere, 52 weekends out of the year
