MacBook Pro!!!!

Yep, I just ordered the 15" MacBook Pro with aluminum chassis

2.4GHz Intel Core 2
2GB 1066Mz DDR3 SDRAM
250GB ATA @ 7200
SuperDrive 8X DL (this slot load drive reads and writes all formats, including double layer)
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and 9600M GT with 256MB (the first video card handles all the normal duties to save battery power. But the big 9600 GT kicks in if you are playing a video game or using some other video-intensive software).

I also picked up a nice travel bag and a third party AC/DC/Air adapter that both powers the Apple and charges the battery at the same time.

Total cost, including the accessories and sales tax: $2440

You guys are gonna hate my guts, but I have to admit I didn't pay for this computer!! My dad calls me up and says to me, "I'll buy it for you".

By the way.....average run time with each battery charge: 5 hours

I just ordered a Dell Mini notebook - 1GB ram and 160GB HD - off QVC. Meant to be used for internet connection on the go, this lil sumbiotch ought to be a pretty slick machine. Under 3 lbs and nice and small. $559

Check it out... featured item on QVC's Electronics page... we got... you guessed it... BLUE of course!

I was looking at those, Kurt......they are good for checking email and hitting the web while you're away from your main machine.....but you'll still have to pay for the mobile internet ($60 a month for cellular broadband).

Also be aware that at 4200rpm, your hard drive is gonna be sloooooow

I wouldn't be surprised that by the end of the year or next, they'll offer 5400 or even 7200 drives in those minis.

But you can't beat the price.
