PRICE OF GASOLINE
A couple days ago I went to the store 2 miles down the road and it was $4.39 so I drove slowly the other way about a 12 mile round trip and got it for $4.31.......just got $25 worth to fill my 6 gallon gas can to use to mow the lawn (total of $107 so far just to mow)
I even pushed my new 21in mower around for 3 hours just to see how much less it burned than the 48in riding Deere.
I really did get a lot done using a lot less gas.....but then pushin' that thing all over is a bit of work especially when it gets hot out there.
I still haven't driven my cars around so they still have gas from last year in the tanks (with the additive in them)
But I finished the mowing today....finally.

Re: PRICE OF GASOLINE
Aint that something..I also pushed my lawn last week due to mechanical issues with my rider. It took me 2 tanks with the 21 incher..I dont know if its because Im out of shape or what, but my back is still killing me. I was well over 2 hours cutting the grass. We are in a mini drought now, havent had a decent rain in 3 weeks, I welcome the drought if Im stuck pushing this grass all summer.

Re: PRICE OF GASOLINE
I watch the landscaping crew mow, mulch, and weed around my condo. Neither gas nor electricity has cost me a dime to take care of my yard.

Re: PRICE OF GASOLINE
Ah I know you can do it Crav!
If I can push the mower around you can do it
Those gas tanks on the push mower are so small and they last so long that it is way cheaper than the rider......but I still plan on doing most of it with the 48in rider since the lawn is just about 3 acres.
Looks like it will be ready to cut again next week some time.
Can't wait to see who puts on the fireworks show for me around my place the next few days
(I also better get out and play some golf and maybe win the $1900 on sunday)

Re: PRICE OF GASOLINE
Wee the price of crude dropped a bit after the Pres. said ok lets get out and drill our own oil finally.
So here after that it dropped from $4.39 to $4.24
Now if it will just drop another $ so it actually adds up to saving big bucks for fuel and everything else.
I never could get myself to invest but seeing how oil stocks and many other stocks including silver, gold, and platinum......it would have been a money making idea just a few years ago.
I just collect Ben Franklins and hope the bigger the stack that maybe the more it will be worth one of these days........like when I get waaaaaaaaay over the hill
Reminds me of when I was tempted to buy $6000 with Microsoft way back in the 1980's.
CRAP!

Re: PRICE OF GASOLINE
Well I decided to drive down to the store to pick up some bird seeds for the wild pets since they ran out and the feed store wasn't open so I could only get a little bag of seed that are actually for humans that will last until 2morrow when I can get the 25lb bag.....
But the main thing is I drive by the local gas station that has all the pumps and is always full of cars and the price had dropped again and is now $4.07 per gallon.......down .32 cents since GW said lets drill our own oil.
Most people don't understand how the fuel prices work......but....
It isn't all that GW said so lets drop the price......but it did start the drop in prices since the people that see into the future along with investors and then the oil companies all get together and decide wtf will happen.
But the main thing is lets get to work and start drilling our own oil and coal shale and add that to wind and sun and nuclear (or say it like a Texan right =SA=? )
The sooner the better.
Pelosi can kiss my.......exhaust pipe on the 1947 John Deere tractor
All the other countries drill and have nuclear plants (well the big ones anyway) and us playing "green" and whining about carbon dioxide is BS
Plants live off that shit!
And we plant millions of trees in the USA every single year.
I have planted a couple hundred at my place over the years and my sequoia forest will be here for thousands of years........breathing CO2 and spitting out tons of good old oxygen.
And we are not going to make China,Russia, and India do anything for the tree huggers.......hippies can peddle bikes here but the Chinese have had enough of that BS
(last lecture of the month from the mad scientist)

Re: PRICE OF GASOLINE
That sounds good to me right now Kurt!
I hope we get down to $3.73 this month so I can fill the cars up for winter and maybe even take a drive......since they haven't left the building since last summer.

Re: PRICE OF GASOLINE
Well today I took my green racer down to the lowest priced station we have and it is about a 12 mile round trip from here.
First drive since this time last year and the tank was empty after just warming it up in the garage during the fall and winter.
Usually leave the cars with full tanks over the winter but on my way home from golf last year in this car I was having brake trouble so I just parked it.
Turned out it needed a new master cylinder and the new one was only $45 for the 1970 racer.
So today I went to get the gas and it is $3.85 now and I got 20 gallons and it is the 1st time in my life I payed $75 for a tank of gas.
But then the last time I filled it the gas was only $2.67 so 1 tank every year doesn't cost all that much.
The Jag is full too.......next will be the 4X4 Power Wagon I have been driving since 1976....it has a lil electrical problem right now but I should get that fixed tuesday......so another tank of gas and maybe a couple trips to the hardware store to bring home some sheetrock and more ready mix for the projects.
Then parked with the other 2 until next dry weather in the spring of 2009.
