Tuesdays with BlueShoes
I volunteer for the local hospice organization and have been asked to facilitate a monthly book discussion. This month's book is "Tuesdays with Morrie" by Mitch Albom. It was originally published in 1997 and was on the best seller list for well over a year.
If you've not read this book I'd highly recommend it. Takes only a few hours of reading but packs a lot of life lessons that everyone should take time to consider. My wife and I read it in 1998 and were moved to buy copies for our two kids. I'd not re-read it since then until this past weekend. Since the first reading and this one, my wife Nancy died (she battled ovarian cancer for over two years and passed away in the fall of 2003). I was blown away by the different perspective I had on reading the book this time as compared to when I read it in 1998 -- much of what Nancy went through in her final days and the "talks" she and I had is reflected in the book.
Buy it. Read it. Take something from it. Oh, and have some tissues handy.

Re: Tuesdays with BlueShoes
Not much of a reader unless it has to do with sports...........
But I think I will look for it at Barnes and Noble next time i hit the mall.
I`m at that age now where life really starts to matter........You know how wreckless and don`t have a care in the world a person can be when they are young.
I also remember when you went through that Blue.........God rest.

That would be a very good idea. My best to you and your Dad.

I saw the TV movie a few years back. Lack Lemmon as Morrie.
It was a great movie, but I'll bet the book is better... they usually are.
