Let's set the "Record" Striaight
2Shock you kind of touched on this subject a week or so ago.
Barring some fluke tonight, it's pretty much safe to say we're going to see Mannings record get broke tonight. Records are made to be broken. That's why they're there. I just kills me to listen to these Pats fans run their mouths about how Brady is going to break it and how much better he is than Manning. You can look back at the season and think how many times would Manning have been sitting in the 4th Quarter with the kind of leads the Pats have had in some of these games. We saw it the year he broke Marino's record. With nothing better to do with myself this morning I decided to take a look back at the 2004 season and compare it to Brady's 2007 season.
HERE ARE THE FACTS!!!!
With still one game to be played..... Brady has at this point in the season 38 more attempts than Manning. Manning's comp % was .712 and Brady's is .684
With still one game to be played..... Brady has played in all but 22 min. of their games. That equals out to him only sitting out 1.5 quarters for the season. Manning sat out 96.1 min in 2004. That equals out to almost 6.5 quarters!!!!!
Add it up..... Manning averaged 3 TD's per game in 2004. That means if he would not have sat in those games and thrown his average for the season he would have had 5 more TD's on the season. Giving him 54 for the season. Leaving Brady needing 6 TD's. Which is not out of the question for tonights game.
I believe a few of the Pats fans over on the ESPN Boards continued to tell us that Manning was a selfish player and was throwing meaingless TD's in 2004. What about the 6 TD's in their 49 - 28 win against Miami. There were plenty of meaningless TD in the Pat's wins this season. What about Moss and Brady tonight??? Will they sit??? We all know they're NOT!
They can all pound on their chests all they want. But we know who the better QB is!!!!

Re: Let's set the "Record" Striaight
I agree with you 100% bud.
If Manning would have played all he could have that year he would have obliterated the record.....
Thats ok... let them talk it up....
I just wonder what that wild New Jersey weather is going to be like 2night?
And I wonder just how inspired the Gmen will be tonight as well.....
AND I wonder if the Pats Old Ass Lbers will actually be able to tackle Brandon Jacobs' wide load as well.
And I really truly hope the Jags land in the Pats bracket for the PO's because I really don't think those Putz trolls realize just how good a team the Jags really are.....

NOBODY will touch Unitas' record of 47 straight games with a TD Pass, NO ONE.

OK 99..............I look at this shit s a football fan..............no rose colored glasses here.
But your post is lacking one thing.
Manning plays indoors.
What about the game two weeks ago in NE?
It is a helluva lot harder to play in the elements than it is to play indoors.(especially this time of year).
Do you think I agree with what Emmit did?
He stayed past his prime to break a record,Payton was still in his prime while the Bears were kickin ass and going for the playoffs when he broke Brown`s record.
Just leave it alone.
I do think Manning is better, yes, but brady is also special...................This coming from a neutral fan.

All 16 games are not in the RCA Barry the Bear!
Can't wait for the new stadium so that subject will be dropped for good.
I wish we still played the fish, jets, buffs twice a season to help stack those stats

Manning even makes better commercials than brady.
Manning makes funny ones and brady's suck.
I know you won't want to look at this link Bear.

Re: Let's set the "Record" Striaight
You guys can give all that stats you want..........BUT...............It is no different than any other record.
Like I said compare Payton to Emitt:
Emmitt had a better line.
HOF`er in lineman9will have),a qb,wr and probably a te in Novacek.
payton had none of that.
Do i think Payton is better than Emmitt............HELL YES!!
DO I think Manning is better than Brady...........yes,but thats the way it goes.
Brady plays in the elements,Manning doesn`t.
In 2004 look where manning played:

Well yeah Walter was better.
Didn't you check that link I gave you???
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/clt/2004_games.htm
That site has always been better than espissn
Not to mention playing indoors or out is no difference........since both teams are playing there and when you play in miami that is indoors.
Or any of the outdoor games in sept, oct.and even nov.
The Colts beat the crap out of ne @ ne and they try to pretend that didn't happen.
But I picked NY to cover tonight so I will take that best bet point
NY was stupid to give that bomb td away the very next play after moss dropped that pass.
Even a 49yr old couch player knew wtf would happen next.
Then Eli throwing the INT that really lost the game.
I won't be happy until I see Bobby Sanders (or any other player) knock the squeak out of brady.
I can't stand anything about that fucking ne team.
I would rather see the Bears go undefeated!!!!!!

There is never any wind rain or snow indoors..............Now your reaching.
Heres to the Pats for a great regular season.
As for the bears undefeated seasons.........i guess they did it twice.lol
But lost the Championship both times, so quit suckin up.lol-

Re: Let's set the "Record" Striaight
LOL #34
Yeah they did go undefeated way back before any of us were born and the seasons were a bit shorter!
I just mean BOTH teams are outdoors when they play and if a team goes to a dome and loses they really can't blame that 12th man called earth, wind and fire.......well wind rain and snow
The Colts have won big games outdoors @ Chicago,KC,Denver,NE......and probably other place3s (I just don't wanna look that up right now )
I hope Brady has to finish his career playing AT the new Colts stadium.
Manning didn't even try to run up that TD record the last 4 games of the 2004 season or any other......but he does have 306 career TD's and over 41,000yrds and about to get another 4000yrd+ season
Unitas can keep that 47 game TD record

100 bucks says that new stadiums roof will be closed more than it will be open. 8 home games a year I guarantee it will be closed 5-6 of them, so essentially, Manning will be in the warm comfort of a DOME.

Brady has really only had one or two bad weather games this year. I think maybe Super Bowl XLI was also outside in the elements. Unless that was a domed stadium and the sprinkler system was on the whole game.
The last time I looked, Soldier Stadium didn't have a roof over it and Manning destroyed your Bears with 4 TD's in 2004. Also went to K.C. that year, which is one of the hardest places to play in the NFL and torched them for 472 yards and 5 TD's. I don't care if it's indoors, outdoors or on the fucking moon!!!! It' doesn't mean shit to me.
As for Walter.......... GREATEST RUNNING BACK EVER!!!
I could have run for that many yards if I had the line Emmit had!!!!
DAMN IT BARRY!!!!!
WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GO AND PISS ME OFF SOOOO EARLY IN THE MORNING!!!!!!

KC USED to be a hard place to play, but only in December. Hell Kyle Boller squelched that myth last year when we beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead, in December.

Now for you Cravn!!!!
The weather here doens't start getting bad untill late November. So unless its raining, the dome will be open. I believet he NFL says that if you have a retractable roof that if the temp is under 50 deg., the dome has to be closed. I think it's a bullshit rule myself. But 5 - 6 games with the roof closed is not going to happen. Maybe 2 games in December and one in November. I think if its raining the NFL will make them close it also. We'll see next year.
I can hear you now....... "Cole it's raining like hell out there. Thanks for the tickets. I'm glad you guys have the roof closed so I can stay dry watching my Ravens get there asses kicked! "

Woodsy... what don't you understand about the edge Colts fans have about the Pats, Brady, or any Pats player? It is the greatest rivalry in the NFL in a long time! We don't like them or their players and likewise for them about us. Its oil / water, dogs / cats, Dems /Repubs, or better yet... Cravn / Irsay!
Let it go! Have your opinion and realize 99 won't budge on his.
I'LL have that drink on you, don't cha know!
Will there be a SB board this year?
