The BC Grand Champion is nothing more than a guy (or gal) (or a gay guy or gal) that can hit the bonanza on Super Bowl Sunday. You can earn 13 points over all 11 play off games and 23 points in a drunken stopper Super Bowl Sunday. All the hard work picking winners all year and all the hard work picking play off games don't mean squat. Your better off if you can luck (and I mean luck) into picking the team that scores first, picking the team that scores last, picking the fricken coin flip, picking who has the lead at halftime, all while picking your nose. Let me pick the scoring system next year. It will be logical and well thought out. It will also reward the best handicapper.

First team to score = 2 points.

Team with halftime lead = 2 points. In the event of a tied score, no points awarded.

Coin Toss = ½ point (one-half point).

Super Bowl Participants = 2 points. The two teams you selected in the preseason.

Super Bowl Winner = 3 points. The team you selected in the preseason.

Here's my idea for a bookie challenge. And it really would be a "bookie challenge".

We all get 1500 or 2000, or however many play chips deposited into our account once our "chips" are received by the quantum magician. That would give us access to our "account", where we could place our wagers each week.

No rules on the wagers. There's parlays, over/unders, and straight bets. You can sit out a week, you can wager as much/as little as you like. Basically, no rules- it's your chips.

You can't see anybody else's picks until the games start on Sunday (all bets are closed).

Final "chip" distribution is simple- whoever has the most play chips at the end, wins 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.

Now that's a Bookie Challenge.

Now the real question:
Who knows how to program in Java and has lots of time on their hands?

Wrong, SA. The BC Champ is the player who can handle the postseason pressure, step their game and perform in the clutch. The more points you have going into the SB, the greater your chances of being crowned. Eight players had 6 or more points heading into SB 41. Who had a better chance of winning....them.....or you. Think of the 3 playoff rounds as trying to give yourself as much advantage as possible heading into the Game that decides the King.

I agree with you halfway. You're right about the regular season.....it has nothing to do with the post season. The regular season is about winning your division, recouping your Chips and claiming bragging rights. But you're wrong about the playoff games.....those points that you rack up leading up to the SB are critical because each point you have increases your chances of winning it all.

Ain't Vegas a bitch. Ever hear of Proposition Bets? I have, and that's why I decided to include them in the Super Bowl. The bets you mentioned above are Proposition Bets and are legitimate wagers. Wanna be a Champ, SA? Got Game?? Then how about you show us some REAL GAME instead of your TWO POINT WET DREAMS (2-9-0)

I'll tell you what, SA......if you can show us some clutch handicapping in Prime Time, finish in the top 3, then your ideas will carry more weight. If you want to go back, JUST to last year, where yours truly won it, look at my playoff record LEADING UP to the SB weekend. That's right, my friend, I was leading the pack (tied I believe), which means I was on a roll. I was hot, and stayed hot to take the Championship.
