Re: R.I.P. Evel
I lost a bit of respect for him when he hooked up as spokesman for the hail storm chasing roofing company. He must have been part owner or something. Talk about scammers...

When I was a youngster I saw Evel Knievel jump 3 times!
At Seattle International Raceway he jumped 20 cars and twice at Evergreen Speedway he jumped 13 and then 20 cars.
And several years ago we saw Robbie Knievel jump a bunch or RV's out in front of the 7 Cedars Casino that is across the bay from my dentist's office on east Sequim Bay and at the far end of the bay is the John Wayne Marina and past that is downtown Sequim where Robbie Knievel lives.
We were up there today on the monthly trip to the bank/pick up 10 bags of wood pellets and some food.
So here are 2 pics I took up there today......one at the bay and the other in Sequim where we saw the police car and a cop suv with some guy locked in the cop car and 2 cops standing there with those AK 47 type rifles in thier hands just bs'ing with some chick and smiling.
Not sure wtf that was about.

Re: R.I.P. Evel
There's no surprise he died early, 69. I'll always remember his Grand Canyon Snake Canyon gig in the rocket....the parachute opened waaaay too early, while the motor was still burning fuel. I'll look for his stuff on youtube.
I saw Rob jump in Vegas almost 4 years ago. He cleared all the cars then laid it down at the end and slammed into a bunch of padding, according to plan. It was a clean jump.
And yep....I jumped all the time back in the day on my little Kawasaki KM100. All things considered, I got off lucky with just a broken finger, 10 stitches, and knocked out once. That particular jump was pretty bad, but I didn't break anything. However, I woke up at the base of a Cholla cactus, pronounced "Choy-Ya" for you Easterners This is a very nasty cactus. I was covered with the stuff. It took them about 5 minutes to yank it all out using a pair of pliers, and I really couldn't move until they removed it all because the needles had pinned the side of my face to my shoulder, and my arm was FIRMLY pinned to my side. Those needles were buried deep in my stomach and legs as well. I asked them how long I was out......they said about 3 minutes. So I asked them why they didn't start yanking the Cholla out when I was unconscious!!!!
Jerks!!
Here's what I crashed into on that jump:

Extremely painful
