Bummer
Well yesterday I went to the place to buy this years license tabs for my favorite car that I have had for almost 30yrs.
I only drive it about 5 times each summer so instead of paying the $75 each year for these plates and tabs I had to go and change them to the "classic car" plates that you never have to buy tabs for again and save the $75.
Not happy at all about this.......

Sweet ride magic
Reminds me of the 69 GTO I used to own. Paid $2,900 for it brand new right off the show room floor, in 1969. I can't tell you how many times I kick myself for trading it in

It would have been nice if you saved that car and some how not put any "wear and tear" on it.
Even though it didn't have all the extras they still are worth between $20k and $30K
I am a muscle car nut and actually have owned a Pontiac 400 ci motor we put in a chevy pickup and that was a 100ft burn-off machine on the blacktop pavement for sure.
BUT.......mine has the original and stock 426hp Oldsmobile 455 with the auto turbo 400 tranny version of the 1970 Old Cutlass Supreme!
It came off the shelf with the only engine with 500 ft. lbs of torque
That is more than the famous 426 Chrysler hemi had back then.
I never lose a race.
Since the color is "forest green" some guys figured it couldn't be fast unless it was bright red
The last race was on this nice hiway up from north Washington by the border with Canada on my way back south from Bellingham and a Corvette tried to race me but the guy backed off when we got up over 120mph on this smooth winding road with a concrete wall on one side and a 300ft drop to the sound on the outside!
My speedometer only goes to 120mph but I set up the speed one time racing a friends Kawasaki 1000 and his went up to 135mph.........and I went faster
That was when the needle was pointing straight down.
Now the brakes are another story......all drums and it takes a while to stop.
Some day I will upgrade to the rear disc brakes with a authentic GM kit that came out when the car was new as an option and is ok to do even if you put it in a car show.
ALL GM parts.

Yea, I pegged the needle once and it took me forever to come back down. I was on a farm road and was worried the whole time a farmer would pull onto the road doing about 20 miles per hour. My life was flashing before my eye's the whole time
Decided never to do that again unless I was on a wide open free way with no one ahead of me. I only lost one race when my goat needed a tune up pretty bad. I pulled up to the next light and had the 4 guys riding in my car get out and then won the race to the next light. Revenge is sweet
Had to go back and pick up my Cadre.

My little purple '70 Cuda 340 w/ the positrack tranny was a pretty sweet ride as well. Factory headers, slap-stick transmisson...
Raced a Chevelle 396 one night and blew him away - with 3 passengers in my car. Completely stock, other than the chrome airfilter.
Buried the needle on the local interstate 465 w/ the speedo maxed at 140.
I saw a 70 convertible 440 cuda 6 pack the other day. Lime green with the big black 440 on the rear quarters. Had to do a U turn to go back and check it out. Got a chubby just looking at it...

I once got my '50 Plymouth up to a whopping 75 mph!! Paid a friend $50 for the car, drove it two years (this was 1965-66) then sold it back to him for $35! I covered the hole in the front floor with a stolen stop sign then carpeted the whole thing with some cheap carpet I bought at a discount store. It did have a nifty reverse 3-speed shifter on the floor though. Oh, and did I mention that I brush painted it black? Cool first car...ran like a tank.

If we're talking first cars Blue I had a 1961 (190D) Mercedes Benz. This was before anyone actually knew anything about Mercedes. The "D" stood for Deisel. This meant it was as slow as molases. Top speed was 85 but it would run at 85 all day.
In the old days most roads were two lane. This meant that when I had to pass another car I would peak around the left side and asses a passing opportunity. Once I saw space behind the approaching car I would drift back, re asses the speed of the approaching car and then step on the accelerator building up speed. I had to time it just right so I was at maximum speed when the approaching car passed the car ahead of me. Then I would hope and prey I made it around the car before I ran into another approaching car.

First wheels... 1968 Mustang.
Got the car for free... spent $650 for paint, body work, and engine tweeks. Maroon w/ black vinyl top. 289 automatic. Not fast, but looked good with the air shocks and Craegers all the way around. The Pioneer wedge speakers in the back window were SWEET.
Not 1 car that I've owned that I wouldn't love to have back today.
Well, I probably wouldn't want the 4 door 72(?) Ventura...
