Truth is, you can thank Blue for this year's divisional player-placement formula
He was the one who gave me the idea of pairing players with similiar points totals into divisions, in an attempt to create closer division races throughout the year. I agreed with this idea, versus last year's formula which seeded players into divisions one at a time in a rotation. The problem with that formula is we ended up with some divisions with a points leader so far ahead, the bottom players had little chance to catch up, whether because they were having a bad year, or the points leader was having a great year.

But using the "Parity Formula" to set divisions, everybody is close right from the get-go......except for poor Birdman, who looks like he's already fucked!! But hey, he's the Defending Champ, so it's only right that he has to face the highest scoring players. In fact, we may make that a permanent rule......the Defending Champ has to play with the highest scoring players when the divisions are set the last week of September. This would be similiar to how the Super Bowl champ has to play the hardest schedule the following year.

That's about as flawed logic as I've ever seen. Seeding the old way was "plain and simple" fair. You've got four Divisions chalked full of cellar dwellers . How fair is that when someone with 16 total fricken points claims to be a Champion.

You had it right the first time Mighty. Shouldn't have mucked with the formula just because you had a few blow out races one year. It was the right formula and the NFL would have done it the same if they used this format.

Let's vote on it next year.

That's ok "99". What Mighty is saying is that we are the "Mighty" Division. The new SUPER DIVISION. Sort of like Division 1A in college. The rest of the Divisions are Division 2AA and 3AA Divisions.

You guys, don't sweat the regular season so much. The most important thing about the regular season is we have competitive races. Divisional Championships are excellent additions to your handicapping career, but the playoffs are totally different......January and Feburary are Money. You gotta step up and make the play, and that's NOT easy to do. The Birdman was Money In The Clutch, so he earned his Championship. To say that he doesn't deserve his crown based on what he did months earlier in the regular season is wrong. What you do in MONEY TIME is what matters!!! That's where real players declare themselves and get it done

But as for the regular season, I'm curious to see if this divisional "parity" idea works. If we end up with a bunch of close races, then we'll stick with it. It wasn't just last year we've had blowouts.....it was that way every year. Close divisional races in December were fairly unusual, so I want to see if this parity formula works. If it doesn't, we can try something else. We can afford to tinker with the regular season format because it doesn't effect the playoffs, and it doesn't effect your score at the end of the regular season.

SA, maybe you gotta change the way you analyze teams in the playoffs, because you're regular season game isn't working in Jan and Feb.

Teams change their way of thinking in the Money Months, so you have to do the same thing. Plus you have to be able to "feel" the teams, I shit you not. Certain teams change how they think and react once the postseason starts. This is a fact.

Maybe a six pack before you make your postseason picks will help? You need to find the Zone. We all know that Gmole fires up a bowl before he makes his picks, and he does well in the playoffs.
