Car Show
Went to the local car show today in my 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (a thing of beauty)
Of course I drive up about 10 minutes before they are going to give out the awards and everybody is staring at my car as I am trying to turn off the main road into the parking lot (pizza place) and old timers all waved and looked and a couple people stopped me and said hi and were surprised I still had this car (I didn't recognize anyone but they knew who I was)
All different types of cars and trucks and the one that won the 1st place was a corny 1969 orange Camaro with lots of after-market parts.......mine is 99% GM parts (flow master exhaust is the only non-GM part)
My car was the best of the muscle car types for sure.
The only one besides mine that I would vote for was this perfect 1955 Olds 88.......I didn't see one bad thing on this car.......should have brought my camera........maybe next time I will get there earlier.

Re: Car Show
Thanks Cravn (lol an old friend of mines wife has called me "Mr.Bill" for over 20yrs now)
The Flow Master I use is just the muffler and under the car pipes and I use the original stock exhaust manifolds because headers would be seen by any guys that check to see if it is all original......but Hooker headers are nice......and expensive!
I have went through 3 sets of headers on my 4X4 over the years and finally gave up on those damn things because after a few years they start getting rusted pin holes in em and just get worse especially since mine never drive in the rain so they sit in the garage and just get started and warmed up once a month until summer.
I had the original stock exhaust manifold stashed away for decades and just put them back on after the last headers rusted again.
It costs over $500 for those ceramic and aluminum coated ones and they still don't last long enough.
One of the assembly plants that made that car was in Baltimore back then but mine was a west cost car made in Fremont Cali.
Unless you are rolling in millions of $'s it is never-ending work to keep these things looking good and I still have plenty to do (undercoating is on my damn list right now)
