Yeah, that was ugly. Thats why I wouldn't become a Horse Owner, 1300 pounds on those skinny ankles running at 39 mph..Something has to give. And its just not in the Preakness, Dont ask me why but TVG is now part of the basic package channel 602. I do watch quite a few races, it is the King of Sports!! any yo would be suprised at the number of horses that breakdown during any given race,,Its a sad and tragic part of that business..And I know that I would get attatched to them, So I'll stay a casual gambler.

I wouldn't be good at owning either......it is sad enough just seeing it happen.
My old mechanic that just moved to Idaho showed me how he watches that channel all the time and makes small bets almost every day and says he does pretty good.
I have looked and they were zipping through tracks all over the country and I'm not good at picking since I don't know any of the horses.
Mrs. Magic used to go to the old Longacres track here with her Dad (they saw Seattle Slew back then and saw all the owners and riders since he was an AP sports writer in Seattle back then)
I just remember seeing that old track when the parents were driving us kids around and have only seen Emerald Downs on tv.
That reminds me.......last few weeks the local casino and golf course here that the indians just bought has been running tv commercials with Sonny Sixkiller telling us all to play golf at Dungeness Golf and then cruise over to the 7 Cedars Casino
