Mulch mulch and MORE mulch...
I just laid about 10 cubic yards or mulch today... I'm one tired SOB..
Now to get started ripping out the old deck and mini-barn and starting the new ones...
I'm going to build a 3tiered deck with an outdoor kitchen...lol...
I don't think I'm going to get to go fishing again this summer... DAMN>

Dbl, make sure to use that composite lumber (Trex or similar) when you build that deck. Love mine...hosed it off this spring and it's good to go!

Yeah that is the way to go these days when you build anything.
I have the metal roof and the house sits on tons of concrete and the siding is that "Hardy Plank" that looks like wood but is actually made of a concrete composite and will be around as long as the house is on earth.

I got a quote for PhaseII of my backyard patio area (PhaseI was the Paver patio alongside my screened in porch) which is a Pergola, built-in grill using the same materials as my sitting walls on the patio, and another paver area under the pergola. $8000!!!!
With the upcoming nuptuals, I'm thinking Phase II comes in 2009!

I'm looking at the trex....but since I've been a carpenter for so long I still love the Ceder blue...LOL and I can order the lumber on the company account at pretty much cost...
But I am strongly considering the trex.....but that ceder just smells so damn good

I HATE installing hardy board..dulls saw blades with a quickness..but it is pretty darn nice...
I'm just getting my Indy place dolled up and will probably sell it next spring... I'll make about 40k when I sell it...Then I'll have to get with the cravenraven about that log home package...

Re: Mulch mulch and MORE mulch...
Yeah 2shock, I'm glad my brother got his friends to do my hardy plank siding because they were pro's and did my house in one weekend while I was back in Indy watching that Colts game vs the Ravens with Agent99
I saved a bunch of 16ft boards and a stack of the scallop style ones and I have not been able to cut any of it with my jig saw yet
I will figure out how to cut planks to length with something but I have to figure out how to cut the scallop style around the upstairs window to match because one row is double layered and I have to cut the curves to make em match so I can finish that.
I do like different types of wood but just for trim and interior stuff so it is easier to take care of (I have purple heart and 3/4in oak inside the house)
I am getting a stack of cedar tomorrow but it is for a 12ft fence I am building on pressure treated posts and 2X6 supports that connects to one of the concrete pillars for the main gate.
I hope to mix about 22 more bags of ready mix one day this week to finish the opposite side.
I just can't pay the price people charge these days so I slowly do all the work here now and I will always enjoy the concrete stuff
Well.......except I will pay a plumber since I would just screw that job up

I`ve been wanting to replace my front yard this summer but decided to finish a few things in the back first since it`s almost completed.
And I was contimplating on getting the composte board but I`m hearing it`s 10-12 $ more a board. That maybe a little more than what I want to spend for something elaborant since I already have a beautiful backyard to enjoy.
It`s nice to sit back listen to the pond watch the fish , wild birds and squirrels.

Yeah you would think I would do that more often!
But over the years here I have mixed a few hundred bags and it always seems like the projects I have going just won't work with having a truck come here and pour since I have other things in the way and that would just give me repairs to do and cost more cash.
The one I am doing now will end up being about 25 bags and it would take one of those pump trucks to pour it inside the form I made and that would just be money I can spend on another project (only about $70 for the 25 cedar boards at home depot and some paint)
6ft X 6in X 1/2
I did get to go play 18 at Chevy Chase golf course here yesterday and it was nice and sunny and I actually played pretty good all around.
It is one of the nicer cheap courses on the peninsula.
