On June 24, 1922, the APFA changed its name to the National Football League (NFL

On August 20, 1920 in Canton, Ohio was  the formation of the American Professional Football Conference (APFC)

APFA had 14 teams and one of the first teams was the Muncie Flyers in Indiana  hellyes
Several teams were in Ohio believe it or not.

Akron Pros
Buffalo All-Americans
Canton Bulldogs - Jim Thorpe
Chicago Cardinals
Chicago Tigers
Cleveland Tigers
Columbus Panhandles
Dayton Triangles
Decatur Staleys - George Halas
Detroit Heralds
Hammond Pros
Muncie Flyers
Rochester Jeffersons
Rock Island Independents

On June 24, 1922, the APFA changed its name to the National Football League (NFL)
Only two of these teams, the Decatur Staleys (now the Chicago Bears) and the Chicago Cardinals (now the Arizona Cardinals), remain.
