Let's get caught up

So I took a year off. No lack of drama in Indy... How's everyone been? Anything exciting?

I'll start... been kinda boring here. 2 year anniversary of the sale of the agency was in March. They paid me the final installment, gave me my incentive bonus for job well done (?), and terminated me. Basically took a month off to get over the shock, being pissed-off, then fuck-em-ness. Been searching for the next step and finally landed it, starting Oct. 1.
Twice the payroll the CU paid me. No longer an insurance agent, but still in the periphery. Thank god this happened in Spring/Summer... had I been stuck in the house for the Winter months for this little semi-retirement, I'd be loonier than our President...

Lost a child, best friend of 51 years and my mom...all within a 10 month period....my liver is primed...just trying to get back to a little normalcy...

That's the toughest "comes in 3's" streak I could imagine, John. So sorry.

Wednesday was another fun one... received a call about 9:30 am from my wife's boss at school. She had fallen in the hallway and they needed me to come get her. Not knowing the extent, I boogied off to the HS. Turns out she had dislocated her R shoulder, her ribs on the same side were very sore, her wrist was too, and she'd landed with her right forehead. Needless to say, I wasn't feeling too good about transporting her with no support for the dislocated shoulder, so I made the call for the ambulance.

So here we sit, the next morning, she's still nauseous from the pain meds (was getting sick all afternoon/evening - imagine that with sore ribs), shoulder immobilized, every breath hurts the ribs... I've got my French nurse-maid outfit on yet again. Thankful this didn't happen in early October, when I'll be on the road for 6 of the first 10 days for the new job... life's never boring here in Indy.

I will try my hardest to block you in a French nurse-maid outfit from my mind

Women are known to do things like that just so you either stay home or take her with you on that work trip
