Flying down May 9.  Driving my mom's car back to Indy after dropping her off at the airport to fly back home on May 11.

Took some convincing and the docs putting her on O2 24/7 for her and Roger to agree to flying.

Tell ya what… that Cadillac Sedan DeVille is gonna be flying' too…  Last solo road trip like this (alone) was 2001, when I did the spring break baseball road trip following my son's Butler baseball team, his senior year of college.  Was hoping the Braves would be home for a game that night… make that my first day's destination.  Old dudes like me, we don't do 18 hr drives anymore.  Or at least this one doesn't.

I'm still recovering from the 8 hr trip to ocean isle NC last week, hate driving anymore. Hell my mom wants to go over Tampa to the horse track, 2 hrs away, still haven't been there.

I drove 170 to 190 miles every day for 18 years, for 3 years I drove from Baltimore to Manhattan 5 days a week to deliver checks from all the MD banks for processing.

Just lost all interest in driving.

Around here you drive that far to go to the store lol

Back when I worked for a few places in the 80's and 90's I would drive 40 mile round trip to work and then drive to jobs all over he county and that would be just like a UPS driver......except we had to work when we stopped driving laughing

These days I only leave the Kingdom once or twice a month.....saves on gas money for sure smile

And let's not forget when I lived in pa and worked in Baltimore, 42 miles one way and every mile was back roads, no highways where I lived.

Well, that was a smooth trip.  Made it to Atlanta the first day (620 mi) then finished up the other 560 today.  No tickets or incidents.  Good to be home.
I75 to Cinci, then I74 into Indy. Simple stuff.

No shit... it was hotter than hell. The dashboard thermometer said between 92-98 outside the entire day heading N on I75 thru Florida... Hell, John, I was on the ground for 36 hrs. before driving home. No time to play, let alone get sunburned...

Yea man I forgot my hat and my Sun block the other day at work, top of the noggin got blistered. It doesn't take long down here.

We heading to Baltimore next week, flying into Philly. Norm you need to check out Frontier airlines, hell they fly direct into Orlando for 39 bucks. They get you with baggage fees but we travel light, so no fear there.

When I fly down I take Allegiant from Harrisburg to St. Pete/Clearwater. About a 45 minute drive on each end, it's non-stop. I have to check current prices but I'd guess around $125 each way including luggage.

Don't they fly into Punta Gorda? 30 min N of Ft Meyers?

We also use allegiant air but for some reason they were not flying into Harrisburg from sanford on the dates we needed. That's ok when we land in Philly Friday morning on my drive south, I just might hit Delaware park pecker

Oh, sure. Your poor dear mother wants to try her luck at the casino, but no. Yet you can hit the ponies…

Not out of Harrisburg. The Allegiant flights from Harrisburg to Florida go to Orlando/Sanford or Clearwater/St. Pete/Tampa (which is really St. Pete).
