Indianapolis, part of the wild, wild west?
Tough state of the city… another police officer shot and killed in the line of duty last night. By a punk wannabe armed with an assault weapon. Now I'm generally not pro or anti guns… BUT something HAS to change. We had two punks bump into one another on a crowded sidewalk here in the party/bars area the other night… what happened? One dude pulled out his "manhood" and started shooting. 6 or 8 innocent bystanders out for a few drinks and a good time get shot with stray bullets. Hey, go hunt and shoot all the deer, turkey, geese, pheasant, whatever you want - all you want. But the assault weapons HAVE to go. No reason in the world John Q Public needs one of those in his gun rack. Hand guns, another major problem.
No way you want to even blink an eye at someone that does something stupid these days… they may feel "disrespected" and decide its your time to meet your maker… Sad, sad situation.
Pretty sure this esteemed group is split down the pro and anti lines… I grew up in the city and there's never been a gun in my household, growing up or now. But I respect and appreciate the hunter's rights. I don't think that includes the right to hunt… people.
All this work to create the feeling of "Hoosier Hospitality" will soon be for naught… New York cleaned up their shit… Detroit is busy getting their house in order… we here in Indy better get on the path.

Is Indy right to carry?
Thats why I like Fla, it is right to carry, so you better be careful what you do, there may be a consequence you might pay. And you never know which little old lady or man is carrying.

The 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting.
The guy that shot the cop wasn't legally allowed to own guns due to his arrest record. Guess he didn't get the memo.

Re: Indianapolis, part of the wild, wild west?
Ummm....may I point out the city with the strict gun laws and how many people get shot every day?
Home of clowns like the one who was elected back to back as President of the USA.......and Bill Ayres the college professor.
Or that naming a gun an "assault weapon" just because it looks different than the rifle used by *Lucas McCain over 100 years ago.
Even the name *semiautomatic fools people that never owned a gun into thinking it is like a *Tommy Gun from the 30's
Automatics are not legal
My 50 caliber Desert Eagle hold 7 shots per clip and fires each time you pull the trigger.
My 100 year old Colt 32-20 holds 6 shots and fires every time you pull the trigger.
An AK "assault weapon" has a clip and fires each time you pull the trigger.
A automatic fires until it is empty by pulling the trigger one time.
How about laws where you actually get in trouble when you shoot the innocent?
Not the ones we have now where you get 13 years in prison with HBO
Not things like "oh no that is cruel and unusual punishment to hang or shoot a murderer" who shot and killed or stabbed and killed or just plain killed the innocent.
I will have mine with me in the car when I drive around this *Harry Reid-Nancy Pelosi States of Illegals .....oh and THIS is an actual assault weapon Harry and Nancy and Barry Hussein

Indy IS NOT an open carry city.
You have to have a handgun permit to carry here.
We will have the usual assortment of the Black Preachers and their 10 pts coalition doing nothing.
I saw the literal STACK of arrests they guy had here in the Newsroom when they pulled his records from IMPD. The guy should have been in Prison has an habitual offender and not been on the streets.

Same in Fla, you have to possess a permit to carry, but it doesnt have to be advertised.

Yeah here in NW Caliwashington we have the concealed weapon permits.
But from what I have read they are not good in every State so I don't know what the cops do if you are driving around the country on vacation and they ask you about that if you get a speeding ticket......not that I ever would

Depends on the state and if they have an agreement with the other state or not. The safest bet when traveling is to have the gun in a case in the trunk and the ammo seperate say in an ammo tin etc.
The NRA actually has some good literature on traveling with a firearm so people don't get screwed over.

Re: Indianapolis, part of the wild, wild west?
Yeah I remember reading that a few years ago when I was thinking about going to the local sheriffs office (at the jail) to get a permit.
I am pretty sure Cali and WA do not agree with each other on the permit rules.
No way in hell do I travel with my gun in the trunk or ammo seperate.....wtf is the purpose of doing that for self protection?
They say that here if you don't have a permit but when you do you can drive with it in the holster with ammo
I found that out when a friend from the past stopped by saying he got pulled over by the State Patrol here and the cop never said a word about him with his pistol under his jacket about 2 feet away from the cop at the time.
And hell that guy was a multi-DUI champion here and several other States

Self defense is a good defense........the Ravens know that
You live in a place where thousands of gangstas think they can make a living (illegal in a couple ways) but if you are lucky your family will always be defended by a good tax paying citizen and have many more happy decades down there
