Hey, I've been mulling over the idea about adding some more prop bets to the Super Bowl card...to increase the number of possible points.

Or possibly modifying some of the bets that already exist, for example, for the prop bet where we guess the point total of both teams combined, if a player is 10 points off, then he scores 1 point. If 9 points off, then he scores 2 points. If 8 points off, he scores 3 points, ect.

We can do that kind of thing with many of the existing prop bets.

I'm under the weather today and just getting up so I will take a look a this later.

I have two concerns:

1) It's effectively changing the rules during the BC season...the rules do spell out Super Bowl scoring. Your channeling of your inner Obama to change laws on the fly is, perhaps, understandable, but for me...rules is rules and changes to them are best left for between seasons.

2. It would be one hell of an effort to calculate points earned for the various prop bets as you suggest. It increases the time to put together final results and it greatly increases the likelihood of error.

Yeah, we'll see what modifications will work during the offseason.


Plus next season we'll have the Official Bookie Challenge Logo back at the top of the board, along with a bare-bones website

Any changes we make to the SB Card along with the effort to calculate those scores will not be the responsibility of one guy....we'll spread it across at least two guys, maybe three. We'll divide the work load.

Thanks! I'm aware that renewal costs some real money, not chips. Used to be $70/year. Care to share what it's up to these days? All so we can type a URL instead of doing a google search then setting a bookmark?

my say,if I had one,on changes would be that the regular season points champ,get a little sumthin sumthin for his/her effort.......
