Goodbye Kindle Fire
Just received from Amazon...a Samsung Galaxy 3.0 8" tablet with the latest Android OS, 16GB internal storage, 32GB sd card, HDMI interface, and GPS. Nice, nice tablet...the poor man's iPad. It's replacing my Kindle Fire which has become outdated after two years.

Sounds good and as usual a poor man with anything other than a iPad is the sign that he may be poorer but he is definitely wiser that those iFools

Want to sell me your Kindle Fire? The Mrs Fire has taken a dump and Amazon said the year warranty is up..The charging port is worn out, and she misses her Kindle.

Re: Goodbye Kindle Fire
I upgraded to the iPhone 5 maybe a year ago... battery life is already noticeably shorter... Love the phone and what all it will do, but really hope the accessories come down in price... hate having to pay $40 or so for a damn charger cord...

Got to shut down the apps when not in use or it will drain your battery quickly, I use the radio app on the beach and it lasts me 5 hrs

Since I don't own any type of cell phone I must be a guy that still does something beside staring at some tiny screen hitting 3 keys at the same time trying to type on it

I have one of those too, Mighty. It's mostly stored in my car and turned off...ready for emergencies. I really have no desire or need for any other type.

Yeah, good product.
Mine is the flip phone. I'll be picking up a new flip phone soon.
I don't like the current versions.
Call me Old School

Re: Goodbye Kindle Fire
I dropped my Motorola flip phone in the pool while vacuuming it, guess Verizon felt sorry for me and said I could get the iphone4 for free. I absolutely love it

Make me an offer and you got it, John. You know you can get a new 7" Fire for about $160, right? The HD versions are slightly higher. If you want to PM me we can work out the details.

Re: Goodbye Kindle Fire
ANDROID!!!!!!!!
I have an iPhone 4S for work, but my personal phone is a rooted Android phone... Motorola Triumph, was going to upgrade to the S4 but have decided to wait for the UBUNTU Edge Phone.. It is going to be a gamechanger.
Mark Shuttleworth is the visionary for this century, he's the next Steve Jobs or Bill Gates, looking far, far ahead of the game.
I have the Macbook pro from the office, the iPhone and I use them and get my Apple certs because I have to be able to support them and will probably be Gannet's Apple repair specialist before too long as I will be the only Apple Certified Mac Technician...
But OSX is really just a watered down version of UNIX or LINUX, secure because Jobs bought a version of BSD when he was running Next computers when Apple's board ousted him back in the day...
LOL So basically Linux and Microsoft (250 million dollar personal loan from Bill Gates) saved the Apple Gadget Corp. (Not really a computer company anymore)
The interesting thing to see is what direction Apple goes without Job's vision. It didn't go to well for them the first time..
Kinda like how Microsucks is struggling with that ignoramous Ballmer at the helm (Mr. "the iphone is just a fad" himself)
I'm telling you, watch Shuttleworth.... invest in canonical when you get the chance, because he is the guy that is going to take mobile and the desktop, converge them and make it work.
