So all of a sudden my computer has decided it doesn't like my AT&T yahoo site where I access my email. It freezes up while loading the ads...

I open Task Manager and see under the Processes tab that iexplore.exe is running and running and running. The CPU column runs 48-50 constantly and the Mem Usage just climbs and climbs. I shut down that process and it bounces out of the yahoo site, recovers the tab, then it starts all over.

So, am I screwed? Do I just need to go get a newer model? This unit is 4 yrs old and is running XP. Talk to me...

what browser?

Try using firefox with adblock+ installed as an add on.

Some of those flash ads can be pretty resource intensive....

better question is why the fuck are you using yahoo?

I just checked the http://www.yahoo.com/ and it loads with no problems with IE9 and IE10 and Google Chrome

I do still have a yahoo email addy from 1999 but only check once per month and I never use the yahoo website to check that email.

Just save a shortcut on the desktop to the yahoo email page https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_verify2?.intl=us&.src=ym

Are you having the same problem on any other websites (like the slowest loading site aka espn) ?

Or did you pick up some malware?

You can use this free program to give it a scan

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button

(that green box saying "Download Now")

Download and run a scan.........it is free for a week I think and after you use it just for this check then you can go and remove it from your programs (control panel )

I tried it a couple weeks ago since some other security programs didn't find the malware I was looking for.

And I suggest you just make a free Hotmail account (they just changed the name to "Outlook")

I have had mine since 1999 and use it to save files and all kinds of stuff I don't want to lose or have to copy on a disc since after all these years I still have things I saved there and of course I do the same thing........a shortcut on the desktop because I don't use any goofy Home Page to do that.

I am on my laptop right now and have both Google Chrome and IE 10 so I can use either one depending on what I am doing.

Hotmail aka Outlook

I use my SBC account for email. I have paid for the FieberandReilly.com domain name, but have yet to get the email set-up to use it. Been a bit gun shy, really can't afford to lose any emails on the work-side. Plus, too lazy/busy to take the time to figure out where, how, how to forward the sbcglobal.net addy, etc.

AWESOME!

Downloaded Google Chrome... I AM BACK IN ACTION!!!

Crazy... I had a computer "tech" here in an attempt to find "a guy" to help when I had issues. So much for that. His comment was, "Huh, must not like some of these ads..."

Thanks, guys! Appreciate the help! ( I was becoming a real prick here in the office... I could only pu my emails on the phone... but couldn't print.)

I had to log-in with IE for those sites, yet the email won't work properly in IE, but works great with Chrome... figured that out all by myself!

Have I mentioned how OVER this insurance business I am... I need a lottery hit. A big one.

What, you think the rim protector aka HIBBERT should have been in there for that last 2.2?

I get what he was trying to do, but c'mon... you're paying the guy the big bucks...

That probably sealed the fate of the Pacers for this series. It would have been an incredible
uphill battle anyway, but to get one there, on their home court... game 1... that would have been HUGE!!!

NO WAY do I leave him on the bench with 2.2 left

He would have been told to stand in that paint above the arc under the hoop just in case the dope guarding him just lets him fly by like it was a bull fight ¡Olé!'

That way LeFake would have had to pull up and try to get a shot off over Hibbert before that fat lady sings.

Knowing him he would have passed the ball to anyone he could see so it would be their fault for letting the red light shine.

I'm a mad scientist AND a basketball junkie.

Basketball

(btw if you do win the lottery I would be happy to share it with you Kurt drinkbeer )

I have a serious fucking issue with Verizon and their iPhone. The fucking signal doesn't work on the beach, this is twice now that I've been on the beach and the radio app doesn't work properly. All it does is refresh. It's bullshit you mean to tell me that their signal stops at. The beach entrance?
