Well G if you want help getting the best deal let me know since I am part of the computer grid at the Max Planck Institute for program design and data processing so when you put computers and physicists together you get the group of world best computer geeks
I am not a Dell buyer myself but if you get the one with Ivy Bridge" quad-core processors—the 3.4GHz Core i7 with 12GB ram it is a good start but the problem with those Dells (besides the price) is the weak power supply they give you and just to add a good nVidia GeForce video card you need a better PSU (500 watts or more and mine are all 750 - 850 watt)
We use those video cards GPU processors.
What I usually do is buy a HP with the best MB and CPU for a good price and then replace the PSU and add a GeForce card and more and better ram that way you get the best pc for the dollar.

Macs are solid
I've always been happy with Dell machines.....I've owned 3 over the years. They are rugged and reliable.
Yep, Magic.....I plan on upgrading the video card to a 2gb GeForce GTX 550, as well as bumping up the memory to 16gb.
I'll check out the power supply before I buy.

Re: X Rated Wallpaper for you
Macs are overrated, I work on them everyday.... (and hate working on them BTW)
Here is another thing you are gonna wanna do with that Desktop...
Get you a nice 256 GB SSD, and then get a 2TB Internal 3.5" Drive.
Set the SSD up as your boot drive and use the 2TB drive for mass storage. The performance will know your socks off. Plus the prices on SSD's are very competitive now.
And for the love of god get it with Windows 7 Pro if you are going to run a MS OS. Windows 8 is a monstrosity not seen since ME.

Re: X Rated Wallpaper for you
Interesting, Dshock.......
But I don't have any need for max storage, since I'm not doing anything extensive......at least at this time, I don't edit or program or anything like that.
In other words, I'm not a pro
I'm only in it for the speed

Yeah I have 2 GeForce GTX 550Ti 's myself and actually like both of them (mine are both overclocked) the 2GB one is of course better than the 1GB version but get the EVGA 550Ti 2GB version and they are only about $100 if you look around.........they do use more electricity but with just one pc that is no big deal.
My best one is the GeForce 660Ti 2GB superclocked but those are still $300
I also have a GeForce 650Ti 2GB OC'd and it was about $165 but it is no faster than the 550Ti
But then I don't use mine to play video games so I don't have any idea how they work for that.........BUT those video cards require a 550 watt power supply or better.
(and I will put my Asus laptop up against ANY mac laptop and mine only cost me $770 instead of over $2000)
My Asus has been running full speed 24/7 since I got it last June.
