The 40 some hours of Cravn
Takes off for airport 3pm Thursday
Lands safely in Baltimore, steps outside, nuts immediately shrivel
Daughter & Grandson pick me up, we go to dinner
Next Day go to my moms, inwhich i was told was completely packed up and ready to be moved to Fla by my sister, Haaa fat chance, 45 years in an apartment not a drawer not a picture on the walls has been packed..I blow gasket, blood pressure immediately rises.
Need plan B, call Drew, my brother, my brother in law,,They all come over.
Sat, Moving day, get up at 6am 19 degrees, 40mph winds from the Noreaster that pounded New England, no snow thank god, pick up the 26 foot truck..8am first box goes in, then the gang starts dribblin in we got the entire place packed and loaded by 3pm..I let mom say her good-byes to her neighbors, we then hit the road..I drive straight thru only stopping for diesel fuel..
My mother is worse then a kid with the "are we there yet" and "how much longer" then she really gets my blood boiling with, your sister made this drive in 12 1/2 hrs..I try to explain that rental trucks have a govenor on them and I cant go any faster then 70 mph..
We hit Jacksonville at 5am, Im seeing double, moms asleep, I have to get into my bed, 125 miles away, Im nodding..Finally, Daytona 6:15 Im getting a second wind, pull up to my home, try to put truck in neighbors driveway, it wont fit, back of the truck bottoms out, FUCK!! grab my mother and say meet me at her house Ill park the truck and unload it today..
8am, I hit my pillow 11am Iam up why? I dont know, check cell 26 missed calls.lol all from my cousin who lives in Deltona, I call him back, he says if you want help unloading, he can only help today..Aye yie yie, I meet him at 11:30 am, and he and I along with a case of Baltimores finest Natty Boh proceeded to unload and set up my moms new house in 5 hours..2 Teamsters working and drinkin in harmony, it was a thing of beauty..
Now granted when my mom woke up and came over she didnt like where we put it, but its in the house and garage, and the truck is empty...

Not to take anything out of context, but... THAT is why the unions are no longer viable, for the most part!

...ok where did I put my "like" avatar?
I guess I will borrow this thread to say that both of the lucky BC SB sunday pickers have received their *Chips*
One Union guy through the mail to his wife and the other one stopped by my place last week to get his *Chips*

Yeah John I am quite used to seeing that happen here myself
The women tend to think the bed needs new sheets and blankets and even pillows and anything else after they look at the many, many catalogs they get in the mail and what they see on home shopping channels on tv
They love that until they see a new set come out........then it gets the updated version.
Most of the time I close my eyes as far as the cost but the damn fuzzy sheets she just got (and thinks are great) drive me nuts since every time I try to move around or just get in bed my T-shirt sticks to it like velcro and twists around and tries to wrap around my neck instead of the normal just slide on in there version.
Not to mention they don't get worn out like they did in our younger days
Now if I could just win some BC chips.........she won't get any from me since I take em with my left hand and put em in my right hand and add them to my Ben Franklin stash.......not sure wtf I am saving that for though
Re: The 40 some hours of Cravn
My Terri is a trip, she monitors me when we are at the casino, she knows black chips are worth a 100, if she sees a stack,(I stack my chips in groups of 5) she hangs around like a lost puppy. Same thing with TVG, she'll be in the other room and if Im hootin n hollerin, the next day its "How'd WE do last night"
Superbowl Sunday was no exception, as you all were posting the results, at first i said i had second place, then it was discovered that I won 1st place, then the "you can help me with the bed spread that Ive always wanted talk"
Oh well, easy come easy go.
She deserves it, afterall she did give me the entire family room to do my mancave.
