They tried that once but IP bans are pretty useless with how broadband works. You don't keep the same IP Address all the time coming from your house back to your ISP. They are assigned with DHCP and they have lease time before you get a new IP Addy.

Or you can just clear your cookies, unplug your cable modem for about 20 minutes and it will auto assign you a new IP address.

Or you have people like me that are constantly bouncing my IP address through Proxies from all over the world just so nobody ever really knows where I am located if I don't want them too.... ohshit
