Hahaha that's enough silver to cover my chips for the next 10 yrs ! Each silver quarter is about $4.50 and each silver half dollar is about $10 spot price =>

People do some stupid shit, that person could have taken that silver to any place in Belair and would have rec'd close to spot price, But no they place it in a coin counter and get .25 for .25 exchange,,Some folks.

I used to collect those in the 60's and they mysteriously disappeared when we moved )mom probably spent them) and I haven't seen any silver coins since the early 70's at a bank or as change from a store.

Hell I haven't even seen a wheat penny this century!

I only have a couple silver coins in my collection bluehoo

Working at the bank I see it all !! My best find so far is a 1928 $50 gold certificate in mint condition , I'll even go buy a case of halfs from another bank and fish through for the silver =]

Back in the 80's when I went to a bank to cash my check they had a big stack of those old red $2 bills and I only got about 5 of them........wish I would have got 50 of them but it was at lunch time and I was in a hurry to get back to work........and my check was pretty pitiful back then.

Of course I made the company millions bluehoo

I did collect rolls of all those State quarters because at that point I had plenty of time and money so I have a few thousand $'s worth of those for some reason.

But the way they sell those I guess they are worth more than face value.

I would have loved working at a bank and would have retired there.

I always save things like the star notes so I have some of those that look uncirculated and 3 of them are $50's with consecutive serial numbers.

And many other different papers notes ........I guess I should look at them again since I don't remember which ones I have stashed all over the house.

And about 900 Ben Franklins stashed.......um.......you didn't hear that part wink

I know I have a 1825 silver quarter but it isn't in perfect shape.

I started collecting when I worked
For a gas station , when our economy started to go down the shitter , people would cash in their coin collections for a pack of smokes , and I would be there gobbling all of
It up , anything I could find I'd snatch up , red 5's, 2's . Silver certificates. I found my first Indian head penny an thought I was gonna be Rich and I've been collecting ever since ! Through the bank I see tons of star notes , I let most of
Them go unless they are low serial #'s , it's a great hobby lol !

No doubt.....best hobby there is smile

I just looked and my red $2's a couple are star notes and one is in perfect condition and a few average and 2 that have corner tears (1953)

And a few Silver Certificates that are just ok and one was pretty good (1957)

Several 1976 $2's in perfect condition

Lots of $1's in nice shape from the 70's when they didn't have all the modern security strips and the rest.

1950 $50 that I told the wife it was for her since she was born that year.......didn't give it to her since she would have just spent it.

I have just a few indian head pennies from 190something that are in nice shape and most of my wheats are 30's 40's and 50's

Some silver 50 cents a couple mercury dimes a couple quarters

Back in the early 90's some punks broke in my place and stole a few silver dollars and some others which is why I bought Betsy the 12guage and the Desert Eagle and set up my security system that covers my 5 acres.

Now crooks can tell I will shoot first and call cops........in an hour or two ramborampage

So make sure you have a good place to stash your collection Drew.

I like gold.....but no way will I pay the price gold is now.

And since companies that sell it are taking paper money when they sell that gold I don't buy their story that it is to replace the paper money before it is worthless........BS

Some here may know that before I ate a stupid pill and got into the insurance business I was a milkman for a local dairy. One of my stops was an old folks apartment complex/assisted living place. There was a certain woman that paid in coins from an old Band-Aid metal container. Silver dimes. clap Probably have $6-7.00 worth. I always gave extra courteous service, in hopes she'd become a regular customer. Not sure what happened, but she only bought from me 3-4 times.
