I keep thinking of February back home and Im loving EVERY minute of 95 and no breeze.

Went to the beach for the 4th, went yesterday, and are planning to go tomorrow..Im running out of Red Solo Cups..

Played 18 on Thursday...temp was only 96. Went through three 16 oz. Bottles of water and a large iced lemonade and never stopped at a tree. Hot. Hot. Hot. Today we hit 100...no golf just relaxing in the AC with a good book.

Hit 105 and was like 30% humidity. Very Vegas-like. Too hot for the pontoon.
However, had a great day with the grandkids. Had a couple overnight, with another visiting to play in the new Wave Crasher slide/pool for the kiddies. Buy it for $35 and bingo - you're a hero for a few hours!
Our Easy Bake oven-like weather had a stiff breeze pretty much all day. What do they call that? Convection cooking?

Today? B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! low 90's never felt so good.

Oh shit we are going house hunting today or tomorrow..We found a bauty, all brick home..This home we are renting is a piece of shit, not one drop of insulation in it. Just 2x4's with plasterboard slapped on the inside and outside, but it served its purpose..

Concrete block construction and what appear to be aluminum framed windows. Ask about cooling costs for the place. My guess is the insulation quality is pretty poor. Also no appliances which it typical of a foreclosure. Good luck! I thought you were currently living up near Jacksonville. Deltona appears to be much closer to the middle of the state -- almost in line with the Tampa area.

Yeah Blue, Deltona is a tweener town, Im 19 miles south of Daytona, and 21 miles northeast of Orlando, Hell Im 2 hrs east of Tampa on the same road, the dreaded I-4.. We are 25 minutes off the Atlantic Ocean.

The sun is finally shining and I had these 3 beers in the fridge for a few weeks that I brought home from the pitchin' wedge contest.

The wife went into town today so I decided to get up 25ft on the ladder and start ripping old shakes off the roof of the pump house tower when she
wasn't looking because she doesn't want me to do this and I hate to pay guys a pile of Ben Franklins if I can do it myself

She came home and didn't notice me up there at first since it is so high up.

But she decided to let me do it a little at a time .....just hope rain stays away for a week or more.

I started late today so I only got the first 6X4ft with the shakes off and I sawed a sheet of plywood off at 6ft
and carried it up the ladder and nailed it down.

Tomorrow I plan on doing twice that much and then the third day tear off the rest of the shakes on that north side of the
roof because the last 8feet already has plywood under the shakes because I did that part of the roof when I added that part
onto the part that was a porch up there back in 1992 and that entire upstairs was made into the bedroom for my kid when he was 10.
........and now he turns 30 in October.


It is sheetrocked and still has some carpet up there and now it is basically storage for more "girl stuff"

Then I have to do the same on the opposite side of the roof.

After that screw down the dark green metal roof pieces I had delivered the other day.

I guess I'm not all the way over the hill since I am still doing something like this on a sunny day........or just crazy

This way I can save money to buy a fire-proof safe to stash the Ben Franklins in......not sure why.....maybe by the time I am 70 they will be
selling new body parts and they can rebuild the wife and I in a fast overnight stay at the hospital ....ok maybe I am crazy
