Need Help
Fuck am I pissed!!!!!!!!
Went yesterday for a 911 dispatchers test, it was a 2 hr 4 part test. Very intense test. Well I aced the 3 parts, and flunked the part inwhich I thought was the easiest...TYPING...They require 40wpm, I came in at 32wpm..
Any online sites you can recommend to help me speed up my typing, Ive never had typing in my life, I just remember where letters are, I do have to look down alot..

Re: Need Help
LOL.....only class I ever had was in the 6th grade and we used the old style typers and I remember typing out pictures instead of sentences......a snow man in fact.
I just learned the hard way......typing in the dark so I would sort of memorize where the keys are but I am pretty fast and I hate typos.

Re: Need Help
Just googled "online typing" and got several hits on what appear to be free typing tutors. I had typing in 7th grade (Mr. Perry and all the girls went gaga over him). Been typing in my professional life forever (programmer, analyst, manager and consultant -- oh and Bookie Challenge statistician). Probably still couldn't hit 40 wpm. Good luck, John.

Funny how we still remember grade school typing.....and classes when we were kids.BlueShoes1 wrote:Just googled "online typing" and got several hits on what appear to be free typing tutors. I never did any actual typing until I got my first pc.
But I can do 75 words per minute easy.
I wonder if Cravn has to look at some monitor as he types as a 911 dispatcher.
That is a job I would never want.
Mostly because I have had a scanner since the 90's and have listened to them for a few decades now...like right now.
I was just a rookie typer back when we were on the NFL Colts board
You would think Cravn would be good at this by now

Re: Need Help
Oh yeah, its definately looking at a monitor, but that part is easy, I already remember the order already. 1st name, last name, phone # address, descript of incident, make of car, liscence# and VIN #
So if a caller gives you the info in order the tab key is my friend, its when they jump all around..
Im going to give it one last try, I just want the dam job because of the additional pension!!!

Re: Need Help
I can hunt and peck with the worst of 'em. Took a 1 semester class in high school. Barely passed with a "gift" C.
