YOUTUBE
Well guys I have had my Youtube account for over 5 years but only to watch video's and make comments once in a while.
But I decided to make my very first Youtube video and I didn't make any plans and it just happened this way.
Lit my 8th day of Chanukah candles and had my HD camera in my hand and just happened to be listening to the Top 1000 on our local FM station here KZOK 102.5
The tune playing (on my Carver TX-11 FM tuner and C-19 preamp and M 1.0t Magnetic Field 1000 watt amp)
I know Kurt and Seabird remember this one and maybe Cravn even though it was used to smash disco back then......
and I saw this band on Oct 31st - The Arena, Seattle, WA
So here you go

I'm sure glad you post these songs every once in awhile, Magic! Hadn't heard that in too many years. Outstanding music and even better (foggy) memories to go along...
Hope everyone has a safe New Year! Good riddence, 2011.

Re: YOUTUBE
Yeah Kurt Uriah Heep was in Indy and about every other city on the planet in 1975
The were touring with Journey and Blue Oyster Cult that year but for some reason the night they stopped in Seattle they were by themselves.
Lead guitarist Mick Box had broke his wrist before he got here so his right hand was in a cast
In fact he was that way when they stopped in Indy on August 28th at the Convention Center with KISS
Lead singer David Byron and I were both born on January 29th.......but he only lived 38 years
I should have that ticket stub somewhere......I still have the new LP they just came out with that I bought the very next day......still in perfect condition
Happy New Year to you all.......I still have the one Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout in the fridge so......
Oh and just for you Kurt......your senior year in HS on that 1975 tour this is what you would have seen.
(notice the cast on Mick Box which I will never forget when they were here)

Re: YOUTUBE
Oh I listened to it, but Im so glad disco was popular then.
1975, LOL, last year we had our 1975 35th year grade school reunion..
What was amazing was, how many of the folks that left St Dominics in 75 are now dead..

Re: YOUTUBE
What, you guys have reunions for grade school?........Seems weird to me.lol
I also hated disco back in the day,but now i`d rather listen to a few disco songs rather than listen to that classic rock crap........Most songs by Zeppelin(Stairway to Heaven)yeesh!
Most every song from Rush,Skynrd and Aerosmith to name many,I`ll scream if i hear them again!!!
I have a couple of disco tunes on my I-pod that are a hit when I have my poker games:

The look on the guys faces are comical........I go from head pounding rock to "The dancing Queen"
Its hilarious.

Re: YOUTUBE
"Bang and Olufsen" that's what usually followed the slow dance to that song!!!
The amazing thing to me about this little video of the turntable is that you hear absolutely NO popping or scratching from the 45 rpm record at all. Either the platter was virgin or he has one heck of a filtering system going on.
Used to be into stereo and "hi-fi" in the day but unloaded all of that stuff when I down-sized and moved.

Thank God I was too early to hit the disco age in my teens.

Re: YOUTUBE
Here you go Blue
http://www.45-rpm.com/index.asp
I wish I still had my 45's of the past but Mom always "lost" my stuff when we moved.
Collectors and especially audiophile collectors baby things like vinyl LP's and 45's but you can buy new ones that are digitally remastered so they sound even better than when they came out new/originally.
All of my LP's are over 30 years old and they are still free of pops and scratches
But then my turntable has not been used in the last 25 years so maybe that helps.
I had a new stylus put in mine (linear tracking) and when I went to dust it off with the lp dust tool the damn thing broke right off and soon after I bought my Carver vacuum tube CD player
Lately I have been thinking about buying a new cartridge that will fit my turntable because they are made by Shure and others.
I have several LP's that are half-speed remastered on virgin vinyl and a couple have never been played or even taken out of the package.
I got them back in 1980 from Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs ....they also made cassettes that were not like the average one and gold coated CD's
http://www.mofi.com/store/pc/home.asp
They even have some you would like.
Right now I am having trouble with my CD player because the belt that opens the tray is shot and I have to take it apart and replace it with something I can probably find for a buck.
Or send it in and pay $350+ ......
Never selling any of my stuff myself.

Heres one that`ll really knock your socks off:
Hang out with me for a weekend, and it would be memories forever....
But then again,Lizzrd Whipper hates most of my music too.Except for the Neil Diamond tunes:(I think)lol

Re: YOUTUBE
Well one thing for sure Beary....you can mix together the strangest mixture of music
Now if you could make a video of guys listening to Neil Diamond and bashing into each other on the floor THAT would really be something
I do think watching the games at the #34 Bar would be just like here at home
When you are crazy enough to spend tens of thousands on audio gear you start talking about how you hear every note of a voice, drums, bass, and the many strings on a guitar along with some keyboards.
Must admit I have to be home alone to have any fun with my system but am in the middle of building my new sound room.
It's 18ft X 9ft and about 8ft high
I don't get things done as fast these days and the walls and ceiling are 1 inch thick plywood and the floor is 1 1/8th thick all insulated too.
So lifting that above my head and screwing it up is not easy even for youngsters but I have half the ceiling up
You do figure out tricks so the other half will be a bit easier.
Here is an earlier picture since this side is where I have the double plywood up now
It reminds me of the old days when I actually insulated for a living and hate fiberglass
Then I have to rebuild the crossovers for my Carver ALS (speakers)
Here is one

BlueShoes1 wrote:Good thing your neighbors are far away.
Well back in the 80's and a few in the 90's I would slide one of those speakers up to the front door of the house and made it so people a mile away could hear it and even had the law down at my gate when a dick out by the hiway called them.
When I saw the cop I got in my truck and drove out the gate and closed it and then went over and asked him why he was sitting there.
He told me and I said ....well it was before 10:00 at night and I have an electronics biz license and was just testing amplifiers.
He said ok and left
Most of my neighbors liked hearing the reggae rollin' down the valley back then
Now if they put me in that certain mood and I am home alone they will be hearing Led Zeppeiln I "Communications Breakdown" at 1000 watts per channel
(usually just once per summer these days )
Ok one more hour until 2012
