Two of our own have suffered a tremendous loss.
Swanshaft and The Shore have lost a brother and a son, respectively.
They are both in my thoughts and prayers. I'll offer more info tomorrow.

Re: Sad News
Bummer......must be something about this spring we are having.
I just lost 2 old friends in less than one month.
Sunday is the memorial for Kermit at our private golf course.
And the other is being planned for maybe over in Seattle.
I met Lonny Ritter back in 1972 when I was a 14
And Kermit Cooley was part of our golf pitching wedge contest and a friend since it started 16 years ago and I knew him before that.

Re: Sad News
My condolences...
I give you this one thought to keep --
I am with you still -- I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone --
I am with you still -- in each new dawn.

Re: Sad News
So sorry guys ... I had to put our 16 year old dog to sleep a couple nights ago but that pales in comparison to the grief you must feel. I guess the only silver lining is the more you feel the lose the more they meant to you in life ...

Re: Sad News
Well I made the trip today to the memorial for that old friend of mine and there was lots of people there from his almost 72 years on this Earth.
We all hit those funny colored golf balls like he used to do for the pitching wedge contest.....which nobody won again ($1,500 was the kitty)
Big display of pictures from when he was a kid all the way until his last days.
Lots of stories from the guys that were with him in the 60's and early 70's
Here is a old picture of Kermit playing the bass in his younger days and you may recognize the guy in front of him playing guitar in 1969
It was a nice warm day and there was so many salmon cooked up and shrimp and all the rest of that "Cravn" food in the club house.

Re: Sad News
I did a funeral, burial, and post service wake this morning for my brother-in-law's father.
Fred Steinhagen, Elletsville, IN. Great guy. 85 great years, 1 bad one.
Stood in the rain at the gravesite for the VFW's 12(?) gun salute. 4 guys, 3 shots each.
