Wife's car blew the engine...
Two days back from vacation. Bummer. Didn't know what to do with it so it was suggested that I put it on Craig's list at $1500. Got numerous responses immediately, so I pulled the ad. Told my mechanic that he could have it at that price, but I was going to try and get more. This am a guy called and said $1800. I offered it to the mechanic - sure he'll do that. The other guy says $2000 - mechanic says OK. SOLD! Mechanic just bought a 2001 Sebring Convertable w/ 85,000 miles - never been dented, 1 year old tires with no engine - for $2000 cash!
Hopefully that will cover my sales tax on whatever we now buy the bride.
Nice.

Quick, Kurt call him back, tell him you'll throw in a 97 Ford Escort with a blown tranny.
Go test drive the Chevy Equinox AWD, the Mrs will love it, we have 2 of them now.

I have the same problem with mine right now CK, with around the same mileage.... I am debating on whether to sell it or get a new engine installed..... I just hate to throw away all the money I spent on it for nothing though.... Grrrrr Chrysler products....

Looked at them today, John. For the options the lady wants, they want $35K for a new one. No incentives/rebates on them right now and here in Indy, they're in such demand, they're going at full sticker. Won't do that out of principle.

Kurt...Fill out this site. I put in Indy's zip-code, there are PLENTY of hidden rebates that GM dosent want the consumer to find out about

There are a limited number of people willing or able to do the engine change, 2shocker, so the value is somewhat limited.
If you want the guy's name that missed out on mine, let me know, he may be still interested. He was saying approx. $1000 for a new engine, plus labor. He's in the car business, so he was looking to repair, then resell.
I was/am estatic to get the $2K, especially when I was ready to let it go for $1500.

Well here is what I am thinking I am going to do with mine, keep it and get a new engine installed and convert it to a flex fuel vehicle while I am at it.
I hate giving those damn shieks my money, makes no sense to me to fund religious fanatics that want to destroy my country anyway. I would rather fund American farmers that love their country myself.... LOL

Was told by numerous dealewrs that there are no rebates/incentives on the 2010 Equinox. Thanks anyway, Crav.
Think she's decided on a 2008 Ford Edge Ltd. Very nice! Black, AWD, full-top sunroof, leather w/heated seats.

Re: Wife's car blew the engine...
The heated seats are a must if you are getting leather seats. We have 1 with and cloth seats without...But the cloth, MINE has AWD
