Anybody ever stayed at the Stratosphere in Vegas?

I'm looking at booking a room for me and the girlfriend there for New Years this year....

Anybody ever stayed there? AND of course is there poker room any good?

2shock.. I was just in Vegas in mid October. You do know the Strat is at the far end of the strip, right?

We stayed at the Mirage... great pool, rooms nice, and the 3 card poker was workin'! Had tickets to see Danny Gans, and he cancelled out as sick... the first time in 6-7 years! (so they said)
I came home up about $400... that's a great trip in my book!

I'm obviously luckier at poker than picking the games! LOL

i'd recommend the luxor. and the best poker room by far is the mgm...

Yep, the Strat is on the North Strip, not far from Fremont Street....lots of action there don't ya know

I've never stayed at the Stratosphere, but I think I'd rather stay at one of the houses on the South Strip....Luxor is good, MGM, Mirage, Paris. The north end is dirty, full of holigans. If you're gonna get mugged, it'll be on that end, although casino security ride around on bikes, keeping them at bay for the most part. But the only reason I head that way is because of Fremont. If you're taking your woman, stay on the south/central strip and be sure to spend a few extra bucks and get a high floor overlooking the Strip....it's worth it.

Yeah, I've stayed at the Luxor before, and New York New York.. Vaguely remembered the Stratosphere, but couldn't really place it. The rate was really good though and thought itmight be a good New Years trip this year... Ohe well I think I might just try and see if I can get last mitnute reservations at French Lick this year...I'll save Vegas for me and the guys... Thats way I know I won't get drunk and come home married or something illy like that LOL

The best place to play poker(especially Texas Holdem) is right here at 34`s Sports Bar.

Once a month I host a poker game,usually around 14 players for 20-50$ buy-in.Not huge money,but a really great time.

And it just so happens that the next one is new Years Eve or day,havn`t decided yet.

Yeah, it is down a bit from the action...you couldn't walk to the strip, you would have to ride.

Best poker rooms are down the strip at Bellagio, Harrah's is pretty good, Mirage...depending on your limits are.

Magic...actually, you get a different vibe when you are in Vegas...and you pick differently as well. I did well last week, but I only took a few picks and they hit..I only had one bad one (Saturday) and the rest were good...dinner was on me and it was spectacular....

Magic...I am making a bit of a run here...I am five back now....damn KC and Minny! So close to a true perfecta...oh well, I still have time.

i, and a few of my buddies, stayed at the strat about 2 years ago. we walked back and forth to the strip the first few days.....it certainly took it's toll. thankfully by mid week we were up and no longer too cheap to pay for the cab rides, they were definitely worth it!

8-10 of us are going again in march for the madness. for now we have rooms reserved at new york, new york and mgm, we have until january 15 to make our final decision and which casino.

The story I got Saturday night(during a game of texas holdem)the Stratosphere is closed.i guess it is being torn down or already is down and a new casino is going up.

Not for sure,but my buddy was just in Vegas over T-Giving.

Btw.........send me some casino chips for my table I built.I use them as decoration under my glass top.

I got 55 different chips ranging from Vegas to river boats,Aruba and Trump Castle in New Jersey........no I haven`t been to them all but probably a dozen of them I have.
