Snow sucks... but it looks cool

Wow! 12 inches here at the Walther house. Thank god my sis gave me her snow thrower (10hp 2 stage... drives right thru the stuff like butter) a few years back! One of the top 10 biggest snowfalls in history, for Indy.

Just got over a bug that had shit (literally) flowing and puking my guts out. 24 hrs on the dot and poof! Feel better again! The wife had it the 24 before me. Been a miserable 2 days! I must have lost 10 lbs. Didn't eat a thing...

Let's get this SB thing going... I'm ready!

Well my snow blower wouldn't start....

SO I have had to dig out by hand today, took me a good 3 hours to get everything passable here..... LONG 2 car driveway that wraps around the mudroom in the garage....

Hell I had to dig the wheelbarrow out so I could spread the excess snow around so the mounds didn't cut off my line of sight for backing out of the driveway!!

They 'said" 12 inches CK, but when I got the yardstick out and stuck it around the driveway and the front and back yard it was showing 16 inches here in Avon.... I guess it could have drifted up here though....


My question is this.... where the hell where all the kids shoveling snow to make some extra money? When I was a kid we would have had a pocket full of money on a day like today (and I was planning on paying the first kid that rang the bell and asked too!!) Didn't see one kid with a snow shovel today!!

We rec'd 4 inches of snow, then to throw a little salt in the wound it changed over to ice for 6 hrs then finally rain..The farmer down the end of the street came up and skimmed my driveway for us, he knows I have Floridians arriving today..Good Folks those farming folks are..

Oh and I hate cold, snow anything temp below 75.

I had some Mexicans come around, but no kids...

Thank god for the hispanics... we'd be in a world of hurt without their willingness to put in a solid days work.

Well we didn't even get any mexicans here.... except for the ones that have no freaking clue on how to drive in the snow.... watched one earlier today going down our street about 30 mph and run right off the end of the cul-de-sac and hit a big boulder a guy put next to his mailbox....

The mailbox was fine......... the Mexicans car not so much.... but the driver was ok, just shook up....

LOL my neighbor is a retired marine, first thing is says to the guy after we found out he was ok was, Man you gotta slow down in the snow.. I bet you Habla that now don't you...

Took everything I had not to bust out laughing..

but the good thing is there is one less Honda in the world.
