Friday's Storms

Wow... the worst I can remember. Winds like you wouldn't have believed. Trees 3-4 ft in diameter snapped at the base. Limbs down everywhere. For once I'm happy my home is newer and doesn't have any trees... 
The hail completely covered my landscape beds... completely shredded our hostas.. which were just freaking fantastic this year! DAMNIT! 2 out of three years they've been shredded by hail.
I sustained very little damage, but my in-laws live in Oaklandon... they got hammered. No damage to the house, but they have many walnut trees - had walnut trees. Lots and lots of trees down and debris in yard.
Gonna be an expensive clean-up... most of which will be out of pocket. Homeowners insurance offers very little debris removal expense for trees... $250 in their case. Actually would have been better had a tree hit the house... then the clean-up would have been covered in full. Kinda bad when you wish the tree HIT the house.
No one was hurt... that's the important thing.

Global freezing!
June first we get a blazing 50 degrees and tempted to fire up the pellet stove.
Today cloudy but it may get up to 60 degrees.
I have been checking the weather back east since they have all those tornado's andcould see nasty weather headed up to Indiana and the rest on to the lakes and Canada.
Sounds nasty bro
People need to keep the big trees away from the house for sure.
And if I lived in the tornado zone I would build a concrete house......never blow away and would actually be fun to build!

I got lucky and the worst stuff went north of me...
I didn't even have a shingle out of place.....
What has me pissed off right now is I have neighbor that built a new house and has been renting out his old house (which is now vacant) and he has 5 foot tall weeds in the back yard, and 3 foot tall in the front yard... and nobody from the city has seemed to care.
