Re: Earthquake!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not the first one I have felt here. Maybe 3 different times in the last 30 some years. This one was probably the most significant one. Woke me up.... thought the damn dog was bumping up against the bed. Then I realized she was in the other room acting like a retard! Funny how the animals can sense something like that.

Re: Earthquake!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I slept right through it.... The dog doesn't sleep in my room, so I don't know how bad the poor guy flipped out LOL
I do remember when we had a nice shaker back when I was about 6 years old.... LOL I remember it because we were smoking a big fat joint and we had gotten my buddy stoned for the first time and we were walking to DQ for some ice cream when it hit... LOL YOu should have seen that guys face... "Guys does it do that EVERYTIME you smoke one..." What made it even better was that the guy was foreign exchange student from Germany...
But of course the whole Missouri Valley here is on a MAJOR fault line.... even worse than the San Andreas Fault line.... The last big one we had here was supposed to be MUCH stronger than anything out in Cali.... they said it rang church bells in Philadelphia because of the magnitude of the quake..... WHEN that happens again (geologists say it's not a matter of IF but WHEN) They say it may pretty much level cities like Evansville and Lousville and Memphis because of the type of soil those cities are built on..
A friendly public service announcement from 2shock.

Re: Earthquake!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Irsay flip over in his grave?
lol, every once in a while Cravn has his moment
I was in a dandy quake back in '84 in San Fran. The two story house was rockin' and creakin'. It's weird walking in a straight line during a good sized quake.....I went outside to see if the street was buckling, and it was.....it was rolling and pitching up and down, side to side. All the houses were moving, the cars were rocking side to side, very cool. But seeing something like that really screws with your equilibrium, it looks surreal.
When those plates start moving, you realize you are a peon.....just a pathetic powerless pawn in a massive chess game you can't comprehend. Although I, mighty_colts, comprehend all things. It's my nature. I am mighty_colts!!

Re: Earthquake!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought I heard that quake was centered closer to Chicago.......maybe the "bear is shitting in the woods" right now (hey that does fit Mr. Bear )
That stuff happens on the west side all the time but usually doesn't do any damage up here in the NW.
We just get rained on and snowed on.....with some wind just to let us remember "global freezing"

3 words that don't belong together in the same sentence...
good... cheap... insurance
unless, of course, you're talking to me.

Re: Earthquake!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I knew I should just wait for Kurt to catch that........we have 2 insurance agents here but Bird is probably busy in Vegas again
I know I have never been lucky so it is possible to get cheap insurance and still get the money.
I payed some low price after I got a bank loan back in 1984 and then in 2002 I got $26,000 on a claim on my old mobile I used to have here.
And my car insurance is that "broad form" that costs me only $285 per year.
I wouldn't have any but it is required by law and I don't want to pay the damn ticket.
I just had to get another bank loan to pay the lazy ass attorney's and the bank made me get house insurance again........the bastards!
Like they would pay me the $250,000 it would take to replace the house and stuff inside.

Yes he is the same, I get a hell of a break on my car insurance but my homeowners is high (so I think) because of the type of home.

...and the fact you live (so I understand) out in bum-fuck egypt... that might have something to do with it. You too, Magic!
Let's see... I want to live out in the middle of nowhere in a wooden house with no fire plugs and a volunteer fire dept. that is located 10 miles away... but I want inexpensive fire insurance. OOOOKKKKAAAAYYYYY!
